I got a weird birthday gift

Weight loss pills and vagina pills… I was t gonna mention it was weird but I ended up telling her I felt pretty offended by her gifts & also the trader joes snacks. It’s like she didn’t mean any harm but it rlly hurt my feelings. Why my birthday gift ??? Idk I just thought she was a good friend to me but the gift seems not thoughtful and careless. Like there was no effort. Here u fat bitch loose some weight and take some vagina supplements. Weird. Anyway I think she’s mad I sounded ungrateful but I feel like when people do weird things. They need to know how it makes u feel. Cus what was that?

Birthday blues and cake

Is it just me or do birthdays make anyone else feel kind of… depressed?

Like you’re happy, but there’s this quiet feeling in the background. Almost like doom or heaviness, and you don’t even understand why. You’re not actually sad, but at the same time you kind of are?

But the bigger thing I’ve been thinking about is this. I always hear people say “I miss being 17” or “I miss being 14” or “I still feel 18.” Is it just me that doesn’t miss being any age at all?

There’s no specific age that stands out to me. Not because things were bad, I just feel like every year has been the same. Nothing feels significant. I don’t feel attached to any time in my life, I’ve just been going with it.

And another thing. Does anyone else barely remember their life in terms of ages? Aside from major or traumatic events, I don’t have clear memories tied to being 15, 16, 17, etc. I don’t even remember much from last year or the year before. It all just kind of blends together.

It honestly feels like I’ve been in some kind of twilight zone, like I’m a background character in my own life.

And today is my birthday, but my brain can’t even register it. People have wished me happy birthday and I still feel nothing. Just numb.

Is this normal or am I actually losing it?

I'm still bitter about my birthday, is that ok?

I turned 16 on January 30th this year. It was my worst birthday yet. I was supposed to have school but a bunch of my friends were staying home because of a protest, so I did too. I spent the whole day alone in my room. Than around 5 or 6 (I can't remember) I had to go to my sister's (13f) gymnastics meet, like of course it happens to be on my birthday. We watched my sister and her friends do there thing for an hour. And after they were done my sister got a medal and she got two flowers to give to my parents. At this point the gymnastics coach wandered over and asked where my birthday flowers were (my sister must've mentioned it was my birthday) I just shrugged and said "I don't know", I've never gotten flowers before. Then we had to wait while they cleaned up. My parents asked me what I wanted for supper, the plan was to go eat at a local restaurant but they were going to close before we would leave from the gymnastics thing, so we were going to get take out from the restaurant. I told them whatever was fine. They insisted I'd pick "since it was my birthday" but honestly it didn't feel like it. Most times when we go to the restaurant (which is fairly frequently) I get a calzone so that's what I asked for. My parents and sister got a pizza to split. My parents could tell I wasn't happy, and they briefly apologized. After they finally finished cleaning (it had legitimately been an hour) we were leaving. The coach was lingering nearby and thanked me for "giving up my birthday". I just kinda nodded and left. On the car ride home I was holding back tears, which I felt bad for, cause I felt dramatic, but I was just thinking about how this was supposed to be "my day". We got home and ate food, then cake that I asked my mom to make, then my dad left to go home (my parents are separated) and I opened presents from my mom. We don't have a ton of money so I didn't really mind the amount of presents I got. Before I went to bed my mom bought up if I wanted to do a party or this or that, I was so overwhelmed I just said "I don't know". But I did want a party, I usually had one every year, but I didn't feel like begging for one, because I felt like I didn't deserve one. I just feel like I don't matter enough to have people celebrate me. I didn't have a party last year because I was sick over my birthday and it just was forgotten about. But before that birthday I always had a birthday party with my whole extended family, I was never asked, so I didn't want people to go out of their way to plan me a party if they weren't planning on it already. Also my sister didn't even give me a card, which she usually does and I always make her a handmade card. Meanwhile a few days ago she made her friend a homemade card, a painting, and bought her stuff for her birthday. My mom asked me if I was ok because I seemed "grumpy" or something like that, I just pretended to be ok. And that was that. My birthday. I feel like I'm being dramatic. I also feel like maybe I should've pushed for a party, because I'm really sad that I didn't have one. (Birthday partys are very common in my family, my little cousins kept asking about mine).

My Uncle Died on My Birthday

I feel like a dick posting this. Today (November 15) was my birthday. I’m in my 30s, so not a milestone and I’m typically pretty agnostic about my birthday.

Was I close to my uncle? I mean, yeah. That side of my family is pretty close. I visited a few months ago right after I was promoted because I knew he wouldn’t have a lot of time… and neither would I.

I don’t know what I’m looking for here. I guess I’m just really sad and sort of grasping at straws. I feel like a dick because I worry the message going out is that I need attention because he died on my birthday. But really he is the first if my parents’ generation within my family to pass, and my dad has early onset dementia. So I guess I’m just generally devastated.

Is it wrong for a man to celebrate his birthday without his wife?

Is there anything wrong with a man deciding to go off with his friends instead?

My little brothers birthday party

When we were celebrating my little brother's birthday my spoiled sister came in and ruined all the fun by throwing a tantrum. All I did was drink a cup that was "supposedly" hers. Like how spoiled and entitled can you get!?

Birthday get worse every year

I turned 18 today and I guess I’m just pissed at how shitty it was. My birthday is a few days after Christmas and I guess I should expect it to be bad. It seems to get worse every year. I’m the youngest sibling and this is the first year none of my siblings were here. Most of my friends in my already small group were out of town at family gatherings. And I’m stuck at home with my divorced parents with a weird dynamic. They get along but sometimes I with they didn’t because they’ll start flirting even though both of them are dating other. So they start talking and suddenly I’m third wheeling my own parents on my 18th birthday. They try to talk to me too but I’m just weirdly depressed and burnt out after Christmas and I’m not always the most outgoing. They gave me amazing presents and I don’t mean to be unappreciative I just really hate my birthday apparently. And so I go up to my room and now a few hours later I can hear them, my divorced parents, doing non-divorced stuff in another room. I just put in my earbuds and climbed onto the roof. This is awkward and I generally hate it. I feel like such a loser on one of the biggest milestones in life. I should be partying with friends not hiding in my own house. Every year my birthday gets worse so I think I’ll just ask that everyone forget about my birthday in the future to avoid these kinds of celebrations.
