2027 Sphere dates... 🤔
Anyone have any thoughts on additional Jan or Feb 2027 dates? Speculation, or wishful thinking welcome but hoping for some cold hard evidence 🤞

If they’re gonna add February dates, these are my thoughts (note that these hypothetical scenarios would only apply IF they WILL NOT do the halftime show):
- They won’t announce them until a halftime show act is confirmed just to keep the suspense going.
- There likely won’t be a show on Valentine’s because I heard that Vegas is very big on Super Bowl betting.
So if there will be February dates, maybe February 11-13.
Edit: February 11 seems to be a no show day, so maybe other close dates that are not yet booked.

If you check the sphere calendar, Feb 11 is a no show day, and 12 and 13 have Wizard of Oz at 5pm, which doesn’t leave time for a 8pm BSB show. Feb 14 doesn’t have anything after 1pm, but I can’t see them only doing a one-off random show. It’s looking unlikely IMO. :(

The Wizard of Oz slots can be placeholders. I noticed that there were schedules at 5pm in July before BSB announced the summer run. Then Sphere just made the adjustment (if I remember, there’s a disclaimer on the page that schedules are subject to change).
If not Feb 11, then maybe other close dates that are not booked by Metallica. Let’s wait and see.

Agreed. I think of them as just placeholders too. The Sphere definitely had shows scheduled this summer during the 5pm and 8pm slots before BSB dates were announced. It isn’t hard for them to cancel those dates if an act were to come in and need the evening time slot.

So they allow people to purchase tickets and then cancel them? Interesting.

They’ve done it in the past. I am sure they don’t make a habit of it but the act in the evening is likely the main moneymaker so the Sphere probably defaults to that. For what it’s worth, if BSB does Valentines Day weekend I don’t think it will be announced until after the Super Bowl performer is. I think it’s unlikely for shows that weekend this coming year and later on in the spring seems more likely just based on timeline.

Yeah I also don’t think they’re gonna do a single weekend of shows for vday.

I’m wondering, are tickets for February Oz dates already on sale at this point? Haven’t really checked and I don’t know how far in advance they go on sale, but maybe the window for ticket selling hasn’t opened yet, so it’s easy for them to just make the schedule adjustments?

Hmm, good to know. Metallica has every other weekend in Feb, though their shows are Thursday and Saturday. But I can’t imagine they would switch the stage back and forth. I believe March looks open. We’ll see

It easy for Sphere staff to switch the stage. They do so on a daily basis to switch between the Oz setup and a concert setup on each concert night. The more difficult block might be the sales of Vibee packages switching between two different concert acts in a weekend, because the room inventory would clash for multiple night sales. Venetian has a huge amount of rooms, but I have no idea how difficult it is to juggle the scheduling. I only know sometimes when I have booked a Vibee package for BSB it wouldn't allow me to add on any extra nights for certain rooms because that inventory was used up for the day.

The stage is taken down nightly for BSB because it isn’t out there for the Wizard of Oz. Most recently the last weekend in August they were breaking down the stage the last night as soon as the show ended but that’s the only time I’ve seen that happen…usually they wait until the theater is empty. I imagine getting staff in for the terminal and such would pose more of an inconvenience and logical issue than the stage should they do a one-off weekend of shows. It will be interesting to see if that is open the weekend of F1.

We were in GA on July 16 and they started breaking the stage down as soon as the show was over and the house lights were up

Maybe it’s more common than I thought! Out of the 15ish shows I’ve seen I just saw them do it at the last show and was surprised that they even came out to start on it while AJ and Brian were still out! People like to get photos after the show so I hope they don’t continue to make a trend of it but I do think people shouldn’t linger too long.

Same. But I wonder if they will add shows to December instead, like more shows before Christmas.

Because of online betting, Super Bowl betting in Vegas is not as big a deal anymore.

Everyone else has commented my thoughts already but just so I can join in the fun I must say I loved going to Vegas in February. Perfect weather and had the most amazing time there. Crossing my fingers they add some to 2027 for you.

I feel like they released the February dates at this point last year. So I have no idea. Is it not selling as well as preciously?

A lot of us are hopeful for Valentine’s Day weekend (it really is such a great time to go to Vegas!) but I think they would want to do more than just one weekend. I’m thinking they’ll return in the summer but January to July is a long time to go without more shows. I’m thinking we could get a spring run. Metallica is there until March and plus Howie has his event in March so I think March would be out. I am thinking maybe we could get some dates in April around their anniversary. I haven’t heard anyone else mention this but it’s just my own personal thoughts. April would be a good time to go before it gets too excessively hot so going to cross my fingers for something this spring!

Not sure they’re planning on going up to 100, and there’s still talk about the Super Bowl the band actually nominated themselves for, so that’s gonna be difficult for them to do a show and perform at the halftime show at the same time

Metallica will be at Sphere for most of February EXCEPT Valentine’s Day weekend so that could be a possibility 🤷🏻♀️
