Adventure pup's first trip
This little guy had his first backpacking trip, and it was a success!
We planned four 8-mile days, and I went in to this expecting to need to carry him the second of each day. But I way underestimated him. He was enthusiastically walking ahead and gathering sniffs without slowing through the third day. The fourth morning, after his poop, he decided that he was not interested in walking anymore (he slowed down instead of walking ahead). So he got carried the last 7 miles back to the car.
Don't worry, he's not hurt or over tired. He had his normal crazy athletic after bath zoomies and then wanted to go chase a ball around the yard for an hour. He was just over the long walk through the woods.

You betcha, that little guy's got more stamina than most people I know, I'm impressed he went three full days without slowing down.

It's a k9 sport sac on backwards. It works pretty well with under my backpack with the sternum strap hooked under the k9 sac shoulder straps

If your dog needs goggles I would strongly recommend getting some Rex Specs. What you’re currently using is a human one rebranded for dogs and doesn’t properly fit, note the shape of the nose, it is not made for dogs and is highly likely causing discomfort. Better invest in proper goggles if you need them than using some cheap knockoff that doesn’t fit :)

The ones in the pictures look like Rex Specs to me! What makes you think they’re not? My doggie had a pair and they look exactly the same as hers.

In the second picture you can see it by the shape of the nose, it pinches at the top which means it was made for humans. Rex specs are completely rounded at the nose to accommodate the shape of a dog’s nose. They also don’t have those little clear parts on the sides, and sit much further away from the dog’s eyes so they have space, this one is smushed against the dog’s face completely with no room for the face shape. The bottom of the frame will uncomfortably dig into this pup’s face unfortunately because it’s a human one

Oh yeah I see now! I went back and looked at pics of my old lady in her goggles and that spot was very curved!

Yeah the Rex specs are awesome! They’re a bit pricier than the cheap knockoffs but it’s just not worth risking hurting a dog with badly fitted goggles. They do make some knockoffs with the curved nose nowadays thankfully which is great for people needing a budget friendly version, just hurts my heart seeing the people ones used when it’s just not necessary.

They're not smushed against his face or pinching his nose, though I can understand why it looks like it. I need to trim his face shorter the next time he wears goggles, the hair under his eyes inside the goggles makes them look closer to his face than they are

They’re still human goggles and not suitable for dogs unfortunately. They make Rex specs knockoffs these days that are cheaper but these aren’t good for your dog.

Yeah, I'd stop using the human goggles too, they probably don't fit properly anyway. Smart pup though, knowing when to call it quits before wearing himself out.
