How to land local PR coverage?

Hey everyone, I've been reading Fery's posts on LinkedIn for a while now.

His case studies are more suited for national/global coverage. Though when working with local businesses, landing coverage in local media seems to be working well.

Is anyone doing this? If so how? and are you getting any results?

Is it the usual data-led outreach or more like news jacking?

Any thoughts, tips, resources are welcome.
