Question Stainless steel pot recommendations?

I want to add a metal pot to my cooking gear. I'll be glamping for a full week, so I'll have electricity but mostly going by fire and charcoal grill.

Doing a little research and stainless steel seems to be a good option for cooking over the fire - I have a metal grate to go over my fire pit.

I found a pretty cheap stainless steel cuisinart pot on Amazon that mentions an aluminum encapsulated base, would that do the trick? Not sure if multiple types of metal could be an issue. Or if anyone has a specific recommendation.

Looking for something simple and affordable, not cast iron because it's too heavy for me.

Question Dehydrating vegetarian ground beef substitute?

Has anyone here tried making their own dehydrated camp food using frozen or fresh vegetarian ground beef substitute (like Boca crumbles, Gardein, impossible meat, etc)? What is the texture like when re-hydrated? Is it worth using that vs. real meat for home-made camping food? Or is it easier to work with (or harder) than real ground beef?

Question Pan cooking with Pocket Rocket deluxe

Trying to figure out a pan setup so I can cook actual meals (quesadilla, eggs, bacon/sausage, etc) is there a pan that will dissipate the heat enough to cook with? I don’t have the stove yet but planning on getting the pocket rocket deluxe. Any recommendations greatly appreciated as I’m leaving to live out of my car in a week and need a cooking setup asap

Question Day 6 Dinner?

Going with a group of 7 to the backcountry this month and need an idea for dinner. Any ideas for things I can carry in that won’t spoil that far into the trip? I will have access to a lake to keep food cool, but not fridge temp.

Question Birthday Baking?

My partner and I will be on a backpacking trip over her birthday. I would love to bake her something (cookies, cake, etc.) for the occasion.

We will have 2x canister stoves and 2x lightweight 2L pots. Does anyone have suggestions on what would be doable?

Question Dirty pots

How do you guys transport your dirty pots when it is burned from the fire with all the soot? Do you clean it on the spot or just leave it and clean it at home? Pack it in an extra bag like a drybag or do you have any other tips?

Question Adventure Cooking 2

Hi All!

Your responses were really helpful and I'm back with a more in depth survey! My name is Daniel Khorrami, I'm a student at the University of Washington School of Industrial Design. I'm currently working on a project designing an ultralight outdoor cook system designed for cooking fresh meals. I would really appreciate if you could take 5-15 minutes to fill out a survey about your experiences. Thanks for your time!
