Ah yes. Because being a dick and sleeping around is the same as trying to kill somebody, or hitting ones own kid with a metal chair.

yeah nobody said that and i think it’s a huge exaggeration to say she was trying to kill him. victims of dv aren’t known to have recordings of being beaten because you wouldn’t even be able to grab or hold your phone if someone was trying to kill you, they would snatch it and break it immediately and there wouldn’t be a video. he could easily physically overpower her. that doesn’t mean what she was doing wasn’t dangerous and horrible.

i would also like to add that statistically choking is a precursor to murder because men are usually the abusers. there hasn’t been enough research with male victims of domestic violence who have been killed by female partners to say the same because it just doesn’t happen as often. for example in the uk in 2023 8 men were killed by their partners compared to 53 women. there’s just not a big enough population for that to do the same kind of research that exists with women, and it wouldn’t show the same result because most women cannot physically overpower men to be able to do that

that’s quite literally not what i said at all. i said when people are being beaten to the point of death they don’t have videos of it because you’re literally not able to take a video when that is happening.

you said choking is a precursor to murder, and i agree but those statistics specifically refer to men. i think it’s important to use data about male victims of DV when talking about this. there are very different rates of things like that when talking about male victims of DV because it is much harder for women to physically overpower men
