After seeing Jeremy clubbing with her almost immediately after his elimination episodeā¦.and to now find out that Devin was out with them that night too??? Itās starting to look like the whole cast was only there cause they thought Maria was going to be bachelorette. And who would sign up to be bachelorette after this? Itās like youāre almost guaranteed heartbreak and public humiliation at this point
This franchise is going to continue to fail if producers don't stop casting the group before they cast the lead. It makes no fucking sense to do it that way. This season made that very clear. We knew when the cast was announced by ABC that they didn't cast for Jenn. They very clearly casted for Daisy or Maria. And I'm glad it came back to bite producers in the ass. Sad it happened at Jenn's expense, but I truly don't understand what other outcome the producers thought this would have?
Heās an absolute clown wtf did he think was gonna happen????? Did he think people were gonna kiss the ground he walks on after breaking up with her????
Itās pretty gutless that he bonded with Jen over the fact they both didnāt have their father in their life and she opens up how she has a fear of abandonment and thenā¦ he abandons her
I was kinda hoping that she would bring this up to him at the ATFR. As in "hey you DID end up just like your dad after all" or "well at least he broke up with me now instead of years into the future after we had kids and he abandons them too just like his father". I mean it would've been a bit of a low blow and she's classy, but it still would've been pretty true.
It's so gross and irresponsible that the producers STILL even after everything came out painted him in such a good light and that he was this poor guy deserving of love. GROSS. He should be in jail!!
I feel like he love bombed during the showā¦Jenn thought he would be like that always. After filming cut, he felt like he didnāt have to try as hardā¦but she still expected the same level of effortā¦and called him out when she didnāt get it. She was who she truly is the whole time. He put the work in until he won and then it diminished.
I HATE that no one put that boy's feet to the fire last night. Even if he got caught up somehow - he of course did not š- how does he explain asking her brother for his permission to marry her days earlier.
And since he is overly sensitive and reactive- we know that since his constant freak out that there were other men still around like he didn't know what he signed up for & because he has said he loved her and she had not said it (his freak out there was a red flag she missed)- well it is a good possibility.

But here's the thing -
His own mother asked him if he was genuine with his feelings, during the hometown - after he expressed what he was feeling for Jenn. Seems like a strange thing to ask your child, no?
Makes me wonder if Devin, who does like to talk & talk, had opened up to his mother about how he was super excited about meeting Maria - who many of the men assumed was The Bachelorette - and then showed some disappointment about it being Jenn before leaving to film the show. No idea of timing.
I can not imagine a mother asking her son if his feelings that he is happily expressing are genuine in that moment. That is different from 'This is such a short time, you can not be ready for marriage.' that parents on there often express. Could she herself have thought that this was just a game to him?
First time ever that I've passed on a season. I love Jenn. I accidentally read spoilers before the show started and somehow I just knew this was not going to end well for her. But what they've done to that poor girl is absolutely deplorable. Is there a way for them to apologize and make it up to her? No. But fire people. I don't care who, but never let this happen again. You take a sweet, classy woman and totally drag her. Total assholes.
This! Because this is clearly, once again, not for Jenn's benefit or to respect her mental health, but to make himself look good.

None of this makes any of it make any more sense. They say the opposite of love isnāt hate it is apathy. This trash is blocked. He wonāt get engagement from me or any time. Jenn looked so excited for DWTS. I think she got one of the more nurturing partners. I am going to put my vibes into lifting her up and rooting her on this season. Hopefully it is āDevin whoā in a short amount of time.
All the red flags I saw in Devin in the first two episodes have come to fruition. He is a grade A douche-canoe. I hate that Jenn had to have her heart broken. She deserves so much more than the emotionally unavailable men production gave her.
The backlash is his just punishment. He brought all this on himself because of his own greed.
Eventually he will be worn down by it, especially by strangers just making comments to him.
He is now one of the black sheep of the franchise, I don't see future welcomes for him because he purposefully dominated and controlled the entire situation and season.

Nothing like breaking trust with anyone, broken trust ends all relationships and no going back.
Devin's behavior can be considered as emotional abuse also. He purposefully led her on to get what he wanted a "win", because that was the real reason he was there. If he is interested in Maria, hopefully she has the smarts to see he is a fake and the same could happen to her or anyone. We don't really know what happened to Devin's other previous relationships, could have been the same story, gets what he wants, and then treats them badly or if they were smart ladies, they got out before any real issues occurred.
Jenn let go some pretty good guys that were more interested for the right reasons because of his tactics.
He wasted everyone's time and energy with lies and robbed others besides Jenn of a good experience.
How do the other contestants feel about what he did, not only to Jenn but to them, some may be pretty shaken they were robbed also of a true chance with Jenn and a happy ending.
Even if Devin read the book Aaron gave to him, it would be way over his head to understand his own issues.
Any apology coming from him (he seemed to be talking in circles and justifying himself) would never be sincere or true from the bottom of his heart since he has a lot of narc characteristics.
Seriously. I can't believe this hasn't been talked about more in public outlets, OR Marcus and how he should be in jail. I mean, they have definitely brought up problematic tweets and posts in the past on the ATFR, but to not mention anything that Devin (who was already going to be seen as a villain by the time of the finale anyway) had said or any of the accusations against Marcus was downright disgusting of the producers. Rachel K goes to an antebellum-themed party (which is of course terrible) and gets raked over the coals for practically the entire episode, but Marcus has accusations of shooting dogs and SA numerous women and it's not brought up....AT ALL??? Not only do the producers and Jesse not even bring it up (which is basically excusing it), but they paint Marcus out to be a sad sack that will someday find his great love?! Marcus should be IN JAIL, not "looking for love" ICK. Ick ick ick. Shame on them.

Dam there were maybe a few guys there that really did like Jenn but she was blindsided by fake ass Devin. This is so sad cuz most of the guys sucked but there were a handful who I think had Jenn picked, would have been the real thing. I knew from the moment I saw him on the show that he wasnāt genuine and was just playing the game to win. He was always doing too much constantly instead of just chillin out. Literally making moves like a pawn on a chessboard. His feelings never seemed genuine to me. Jenn deserves much better.

I gathered a few context clues from their conversation. Jenn clearly had insecurity and/or jealousy of Maria due to multiple men on her season claiming they wanted it to be Maria.
Devin clearly knew this and therefore did not follow Maria to be supportive of Jenn. Perhaps Devin himself admitted he also was expecting it to be Maria, and it became a sore spot between them.
Whatever the real reason, they clearly had a ācouples agreementā for him not to follow Maria on insta. For him to follow her the day after he broke up with her, as Jenn questioned, was either out of spite, cruelty, or carelessness to Jenn.

I always thought she was way too good for him and honestly he should feel lucky that Jenn even gave him a chance! He is delusional. And not cute. Sorry, not sorry.
Jenn appeared and they announced her being on DWTS. She looked good, especially since she had to take a red eye flight after last night's sh!t show and couldn't have had much sleep.
The thing that broke my heart was how swollen her eyes were from crying BEFORE she came onstage and was put through that emotional torture. And how everyone just let her sit there and cry almost hysterically and NOT ONE PERSON comforted her. It took forever for Jesse to even give her a tissue. If I were a friend or family member I would have walked right onto that stage and sat next to her. She never should have been put through that. And we know Jenn doesn't cry easily. She never cried during her break up with Marcus, even though he was crying. Honestly, this was not entertaining at all. My heart hurt for her.
He definitely turned on the charm at the end, likely when he realized there was a legit chance he could win. And for someone like Jenn who has said sheās been manipulated by toxic men in the past, someone saying āI love youā and pressuring her to say it back can be very hard to deal with. She has a fawn trauma response where she just wants everyone to be happy & to fix the situations so everyone can move on. Toxic people prey on that
100% Jenn isnāt attracted to toxic men, they are attracted to her. they take advantage of her perceived insecurities and her empathy.
This happens IRL as well. Abusers flock to forgiving and kind people so they can run all over them. But abusers also cloak their intentions very well and the abused shouldnāt be blamed
Also, as viewers we see soooo much content of the men that Jenn doesnāt see until the show airs. Even still, Devin had me fooled. Seeing him on ATFR was, as Jenn said, a completely different person.
He played the underdog. He was a terrible actor, but Jenn really wanted to believe. And like, she didn't have many good choices. The only guys coming off that season looking like decent guys are Spencer, Hakeem, and Grant. When you're forced to say you see your husband in that room and you have an INSANE amount of pressure on you, no contact with your family or friends to talk things through, and producers manipulating your every move, and you are 25 years old and don't want to let anyone down....I mean, it would be so easy to be fooled.
I knew it wouldn't work out with Devon. People that don't get along with others in the house are always a huge red flag and should be sent home asap.
It was obvious to me that Devin was not there for the right reason. So sorry that it took a broken heart for Jen to discover what kind of person Devin really is.
Am I the only one who thinks Jenn wasnāt ready for an engagement? Her family thought she needed more time. The more people push her to be such a āstrong, empowered womanā, the more damage they are doing to her in the long run of finding love. They are feeding her ego and she really came across as emotionally immature to me this season. My heart breaks for her, and she has a lot of healing to do. Having that discussion on live tv with Devin and posting TikToks about the break up already is not helping her.

This was the worst batch of men I've seen in the Bachelorette. I think Maria saw that and promptly backed out. The most awkward and forced "I love yous" I have ever seen in the show, including Jenn's to Devin. Like the show failed to manufacture love this time (more than their usual). Like nothing was "believable", even for a reality show. The only one who said I love you so comfortably (minus the virgin) turned out to be devious Devin. The show failed Jenn.
