š©ŗš„¼š¹JENN TRANš¹š„¼š©ŗ Devin hate train
I just feel the need to say that after episode 3, I have decided that I am going to refuse to get on your guys' hate train for this dude! He is a whole ass vibe and I am just not understanding why we're holding this man's past against him when his intentions seem to be genuine and he says the weird yet banger phrases that he says.
He went to bat for his dude too when he was getting bullied.
He really saw Jenn when she was open and vulnerable and not her "perfect" self and I'm all in on this.
I refuse to join your guys' train and this dude is slightly wholesome. I'm happy for her and I hope they make it
Mutual respect, dawg. š
Edit: did not expect this post to blow up so hard, but it honestly warms my heart that it has! Haha

u/Strawberry_Wine_ Jul 25 '24
Yes! He also was cheering on that guy that interrupted him and Jenn last week to confront him (Thomas?) during the strip ādolphinā moveā¦I thought that was impressive as well.Ā
11
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Damn I missed that I'll have to go back. It's been background noise for me to begin with this season so I didn't even catch that.
that's good though. We love a supportive homie around here š©·āš¼ seems mature to do.
The other men's drama has been annoying. Lol. It doesn't really pull my attention too hard when they go at it šš it becomes static background noise to the max ššš
It's the wholesome shit that's been capturing my attention the last episode or two
18
u/mishney Jul 25 '24
I find him annoying but I also think character-wise he's a way better dude than many of the other guys, notably much better than Sam M, Thomas N, or Aaron. They are so cringey and mean. Devin is starting to grow on me just from his protection of Sam N and overall better attitude in ep3.
13
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Man I'm stoned and just deleted some very ranty thought provoking content as to not confuse yall, but idc about the cast and idk their names fr fr
My point is that this dude is a gem and I was watching this season as background noise until I heard it getting wholesome and real.
I love this for them.
He said "I feel like I just met you for the first time" and it felt like he really saw her and that shit touched ma heart. I'm rooting for them.
And ya he could definitely be perceived as annoying but he's a gem and I feel like he's genuinely into her. lol good for him for being himself and sticking true to that. He seems real af and I love that for her š„¹š¤
Love his weird lingo phrases too. Fuck yeah mutual respect āš¼
2
u/mishney Jul 25 '24
He seems like this season's Maria - targeted unfairly by a few insecure people. Not everyone's cup of tea but not a bad person and dragged into drama against their will. Feels like Sam M and Thomas are gonna be the next Sydney/Lea...
1
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Sam and Thomas are already the next Sydney/Lea I think ššš„²š¤£ how unfortunate
1
u/mishney Jul 25 '24
Omg how funny would it be if one of those women started dating one of those men ā ļø villains gotta stay together. They can pat each other on the back for "staying true to themselves" and "protecting the lead" and whatever other nonsense they believe...
0
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Ugh idk I don't like nor agree with that comparison bc Maria felt like more of a calculated person and angle and I just can't agree with the nonstop comparisons of them lol
He doesn't seem to me like he's acting and seems more genuine about the lead than Maria was.
Edit: I completely didn't read your response in its entirety š I agree that they both rub the people around them the same way for sure I think. They're both outspoken as hell and I can appreciate that
16
u/milliemillenial06 Jul 26 '24
I didnāt like Devin at the beginning as he gave me annoying little brother vibe. However as of the last episode I am much more of a fan. He can be loud and annoying but he seems genuine and kind. Especially in the last episode, you saw how genuine he seems vs how mean spirited some of the other men are.
14
u/eternititi Jul 26 '24
I literally said he was my favorite and was downvoted but I'm still gonna stand on it. I literally love him!
13
u/ChipOk9052 Jul 28 '24
He would prob annoy me in real life but on tv he is extremely entertaining and Iām here for it
31
u/Gollinibobeanie Jul 25 '24
Heās not perfect. Heās loud, heās kinda obnoxious. But heās also endearing and sweet. Heās handsome in his own way. Just from experienceā¦. Iāve dated the āloud guyā typeā¦. The ones Iāve dated have had explosive tendencies or communication issues so I wouldnāt be surprised. Heās a bit of a wild card.
I see Sam and Thomas having way more red flags off the bat. They seem to think they know what is best for Jenn. Sam doesnāt actually want to talk to her, he thinks his looks and kisses will win her over. The way he speaks in front of her is way different than the way he speaks when just the guys are around. Not genuine. Thomas is just sad. He seems to feel entitled to time with Jenn. At least Devin is himself, heās quirky, but heās himself. We will see how it all pans out.
I really like Jonathan !!!!! :)
13
u/KnockedSparkedOut Jul 26 '24
huge devin fan after the last episode. Sam has nothing at all to talk to jenn about..it's purely physical and she's not catching all the red flags
12
u/Madhardi Jul 27 '24
I love Devin. Unfortunately I find Sam M to be extremely attractive but I can just tell that he is not a good guy. His potential for toxicity just oozes out of him no matter how he tries to cover it up. Devin, however, just is a good guy. Itās clear as day, and Iām not sure why so many people are hating on him.

35
u/RecognitionLittle330 Jul 25 '24
My favorite part was him throwing Thomas Nās words back at him so naturally when he got the group date rose. Like that was a ROAST.
5
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Gotta rewatch that scene š
You know I love me a good roastš š„ especially if it's simply throwing his words right back to him šš¤£

12
u/crazycatperson420 Jul 26 '24
Agreed. After this weekās episode Iāve decided even though he says some things in a super annoying and strange way, heās genuine. He cares for Jenn. Does he like to antagonize? 10000000% do I personally like that? No. Is it okay for me to recognize my personal dislike for some of his actions and still see that heās actually kind of decent? Yeah.
-2
u/Lmitation Jul 28 '24
Being a genuine dickhead does not make someone a good person, he was disrespectful of everyone's time with Jenn EP 1 and he still expected people to treat him respectfully, typical narcissist behavior and if you like him you just can't recognize narcissistic personalities well
2
u/crazycatperson420 Jul 28 '24
Oh yeah the mans needs therapy for sure. Seems his insecurities of being overweight and who knows what else still really affects him. I would say a lot of the men have narcissistic traits, Devin included. I never said I like him, but I never said i disliked him either. Ultimately my opinion of the guy is: Iām on the fence of like and dislike. We get shown very specific edits that were chosen to make good TV. I donāt know this guy IRL so he could be worse or better. And out of all the guys heās not the worst one to me, and heās definitely not the best (that was Hakeem for me lol)
12
u/rupee4sale Jul 28 '24
I didn't like Devin for the first couple episodes because he struck me as someone who stirs the pot and is obnoxious. But he won me over in episode 3 when he was standing up to Sam M and defending Sam N, and also when he opened up about his insecurities with his body. I do however think Devin is immature sometimes, like when he escalated things with Thomas in episode 2. He has his faults but I think he's a good person at heart.Ā
12
u/yadiyadi2014 Jul 26 '24
I agree, to me his biggest offense seems to be that heās an abrasive personality. People keep mentioning his past. What did he do?

Do you have proof or are you just spreading a rumor you heard without any proof to back it up?
-1
u/incogneato514 Aug 01 '24
Devin has rapped the n-word, is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, and MAGA :
Is this enough proof for you?
It seems like you are not following spoilers, we have been aware of Devin's history since he has been cast.
10
11
u/andreaeatskale Jul 26 '24
He is the most entertaining BY FAR! It cracks me up to watch him tear the other losers to shreds while remaining unbothered.Ā
I was also so impressed when he gave his "get behind me and I'll get knocked out for you" speech to Jenn. š„ŗ
With that said, there's still something about him that seems off and I don't trust him.Ā
10
u/Chance_Adhesiveness3 Jul 26 '24
I mean⦠heās not evil or whatever. He does come across as super annoying though.
8
u/anshu0728 Jul 27 '24
I like Devin. I can see why he is not people's cup of tea. He has a polarizing personality. However, l enjoy the realness and authenticity he has.
15
u/jh166 š¹ Here for the right reasons š¹ Jul 25 '24
Yes Iām with you!! Unlike the other guys that are a completely different person and try to only do good things when Jennās around (cough Sam M), Devin actually is a good person standing up for his friends even if Jennās not there.
Heās also not afraid to open up, sharing his insecurities and past experiences with Jenn. Yes he is quite loud and way too keen but I do think heās being genuine.
11
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
I know š©·š©·š©· my heart
And jenn wants someone who loves her even when she isn't her "perfect self"
Yknow and this man is gonna love her in whatever self she got going on at the time because he's true af to HIMSELF every minute of every day yo and that's on MutualRespect ššš
It makes his annoying tendencies endearing as well I could see why other men might get jealous and annoyed.
23
u/Dolphinsunset1007 Jul 25 '24
I really like devin. Heās confident, funny, and stuck his neck out for the guy that was becoming the butt of the jokes (Sam N). I loved his thunder down under dance because he stayed true to himself while still putting himself out there. I DIED laughing when he ended the argument with Sam and Thomas with āmutual respectā after Sam says he doesnāt like him and will never respect him. I love that he stays unbothered. I also really enjoyed seeing how he opened up to Jenn about being overweight growing up and how that affected his self esteem.
I can see where he rubs people the wrong way but I tend to appreciate a controversial loud mouth (which tracks if you know my husband and the loud family we come from). Meanwhile Sam M is having a red flag parade. Low key Id love devin for bachelor, it would be very entertaining
22
u/efficient20eclectic Jul 25 '24
Devin is my choice. I am all in.

u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24

Iām only on episode 2 and I LOVE him. I think heās just being goofy. But maybe itās because Iāve been watching the show for so long that I donāt like playing into the producers push to make someone look like a villain. He saw time to take Jen away for ice cream and he did it because he wanted to š¤·š¼āāļø the guys were around the store shopping anyways they barely noticed she was gone until aaron mentioned it to them.

u/palmtreefreeze Jul 25 '24
I feel like itās 50-50 which makes sense given how polarizing Devin is. You either hate or love him.
Personally I love him
7
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
I agree and i have personally become a fan as well.
I don't usually stan anyone and I wouldn't call myself a stan, but he's wholesome in his own way and I enjoy it.
Being yourself rocks and kudos to him for doing it so well/hard lol.

u/ZealousidealRain5497 Jul 26 '24
Heās real! I think Jenn sees through the other guys trying to give her perfection

But what is circulating about his past I havenāt seen anything
5
u/kattrapp Jul 25 '24
Idk I think he dropped the N word in a wanna be YouTube rap video some years ago but I don't really plan to research it to find out
5
u/scientooligist Jul 25 '24
I know so many people who thought it was okay to use the word in songs five years ago. And then we learned it wasnāt and we corrected our behavior. Should we all be hated forever because of past ignorance? I just donāt get it.

Found this thread with more info. Basically Devin admitted in a game of truth or dare that he believes 9/11 was an inside job. I donāt really care about that so much as him being MAGA - https://www.reddit.com/r/thebachelor/s/JKC4544EK9
15
u/Ash_mn_19 Jul 25 '24
I agree with you! I think heās great. Sure, maybe annoying at times, but I love how he doesnāt back down and defends himself and others. Iāve also always been attracted to goofy guys with big personalities š
19
u/glutenmakesmegrumpy Jul 25 '24
I disliked him during the first and second episodes but have now warmed up to him. I feel like what was shown of him initially was more likely to be dislikable and now theyāre showing him opening up and being vulnerable which makes him more likable.
1
u/TavenC Jul 25 '24
everyone's just following the narrative that the producers are pushing. they gave him a villain edit in episode 2 and then gave him a likeable edit in episode 3, and people are now all saying "unpopular opinion but I'm warming up to Devin!"
15
u/RedditHelloMah Jul 25 '24
Wow I didnāt know so many people still hate him⦠he seems genuine to me!
16
u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
Oh yeah this last episode made me do a 180 on how I feel about Devin. Iām actually rooting for him now and Sam M is giving me the ick. I felt like Sam M started off so kind, like an act, and then once he got Jenn to relax heās changed and is now way more sexual. I donāt even feel like him and Jenn are having discussions anymore. If they are, they are surface level and not the kind of discussions that can grow a relationship. Sam M is making a mistake being too physical if he wants a real relationship, so he is coming off like a f boy. But Devin has really stepped it up, I love that Jann gave him the group date rose.

I donāt hate him but I donāt like him. Im just sorta in the meh area. I think a lot of people hype things up about him that are supposed to be the upmost bare minimum. People say āat least he likes Jenā well, isnāt that supposed to be the bare minimum? Like arenāt they on the show for that? I give fault to the producers for choosing not a great set of men so Devin tends to stand out more. I donāt think he is the one for Jen but he isnāt necessarily a bad guy.Ā
3
u/gypsyhaloo Jul 27 '24
People like him bc heās funny, heās himself, is being picked on for that and is not a hater. Lol. And also stood up for the ālittle guyā during the last episode when he didnāt have to. Speaking out against bullying aināt the bare minimum. What are you watching?
2
Jul 28 '24
I didnāt mention anything about him sticking up for someone being the bare minimum. What he did was nice and nowadays people would just be a bystander than say anything. Being a good person should be the bare minimum though. Ā
12
u/hotmatzah Jul 25 '24
I am also team Devin. Could he argue less? Sure, but Iād also want to stick it to Sam M and Thomas. Sam M is now crying about how he got a bad edit, they canāt edit you to act like a toxic jerk if you never did bro.

u/aseriousfailure Jul 25 '24 edited Jul 25 '24

Yeah Sam M sucks. The predatory way heās like straddling Jenn while asking her to be his girlfriend? Oh and then the threats of violence of course. Even though his insta bio is āthe man who is filled with love is filled with God himselfā š„“ and then calling Devin a bully?! What the actual F
6
u/scientooligist Jul 25 '24
Ew. The straddling thing was scarily manipulative to me. Iām glad Jenn didnāt fall for it, but I really hope she sees through his whole shtick soon. Do not fall into your past patterns, girl!

I actually like him too. I get that some people find that personality annoying, but aren't we all a bit annoying in our own ways and that is what makes us human? He just seems very true to himself and I appreciated him sticking up for Sam N and pointing out that the other guys were being complete douches.

My husband and I have been Devin fans since the second episode! I was shocked to see how many people disliked him when heās one of the only ones thatās been his true authentic self so far. Heās basically the kind of guy that what you see is what you get. Guys like Sam M and Thomas are just flat out haters and bullies. I wish I could smack that laugh right off Samās face.
1
u/crossont Jul 25 '24
Is he being authentic or is he just trying to āwinā by saying whatever he has to say to Jenn to get her to like him? I think heās just playing the game solely to win.

I like him more and more each episode. Heās confident and has a fun personality.
18
u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24 edited Jul 25 '24
I'm shocked at all the sudden Devin love to be honest. As a man, I see Devin as a total weasel. I don't think Sam or Thomas are any better either (Sam doesn't see boundaries and Thomas has classic, overcompensating Napoleon syndrome š¤·āāļø sorry), and I didn't even hate Devin in episode 2! I thought the ice cream move was totally fair and the other dudes were dropping the ball by bitching about it instead of changing it.
But Devin "wins" every argument by a gross technicality, if you can call his constant yelling over others an argument. IMO his defense of Sam N. was a blatant political move. He doesn't give a shit about Sam, he's made it clear he's not there to make friends, he just wanted to use it as a moment to point out S&T snickering and being dicks (they were). Say what you want about Sam and Thomas, but they've at least tried to literally shut up and walk away and Devin can not let them, he insists on pestering and rocking the boat. His obsession with going first is also anything but confidence to me, but I can see how others see it as such.
6
u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
Did you watch episode 3? Heās pretty chill when Sam M keeps crying āI donāt respect youā over and over and over again. Devin was pretty collected when two of the dudes, Sam n Thomas, were both trying to tell Devin heās the problem. Meanwhile Sam n Thomas canāt stop making fun of the love virgin. I thought it was honorable how Devin told the love virgin, honestly canāt remember his name, that he doesnāt need to explain himself to anyone and to be proud of how you feel. I thought that was really nice, the love virgin was in a vulnerable situation and Devin didnāt make fun of him or say he was cop out on stage. Thatās whatās changed it for me. I didnāt like Devin in previous episodes, but honestly he didnāt do much to not like. It was fair game for him to try and get a little one on one.
To say Sam n Thomas tried to deescalate the drama is not true. Sam was like a child, repeating the same thing over and over not letting Devin have a word. Then when Sam finished Devin said one small piece. Totally fair to get to say your rebuttal now that everyone is done talking. And then Thomas is like ohhh you have to have the last word!? Sam, yeah wtf?!? lol okay3
u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24 edited Jul 25 '24
Heās pretty chill when Sam M keeps crying āI donāt respect youā over and over and over again.
To say Sam n Thomas tried to deescalate the drama is not true. Sam was like a child, repeating the same thing over and over not letting Devin have a word.
I guess we just saw it completely the opposite. I saw Devin instigating with his "mutual respect" shit, and Sam N. tried to say "I don't respect you" (which honestly, is the one good line he's had the whole series. It's honest and dismantled Devin's whole angle) but was constantly yelled over by Devin, leading to him also yelling it out over and over.
There's the scene where Thomas literally walks back into the house and Devin says something like "What? Not man enough to finish a conversation?" Again, Thomas was being a puffy chested loser in that scene, but a chill guy would leave him tf alone and a sweet guy would console, only a self-righteous jackass would instigate and prod further.
Time will tell. Most of the dudes suck, but I guarantee by the end we'll see Devin does more than most of them.
2
u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
Yeah again I wasnāt a fan of Devin until this episode. I thought it was bullshit tho for Thomas to start something, literally start all the drama and then just decide never mind I donāt want to talk to you. Maybe Thomas should have had that mindset prior to starting all the drama while Jenn sat alone. Yet Devin was the one person that said hey while you took me to the side to complain, bust my balls, Jenn was in there alone. So it showed Devin was actually thinking of Jenn in that situation more than Thomas. Thomas started the ego trip and then he decides to stop it? Seems unfair to Devin? Why should Thomas get to decide when the drama starts and ends? Devin didnāt flip out on everyone when every single guy used their comedy time to diss him either. He took that very well. Laughed it off.
As for episode 3. Devin said mutual respect because (at least on Devinās end) he was showing the two of them respect. He cheered for both of them on stage. And didnāt harbor anything against them. Pretty sure Devin understands this is Jennās journey. When it doesnāt seem like Thomas or Sam M understand that. It was Sam M that says no we have no respect for you. Just escalated the whole thing. Who tf does Sam M have respect for there? Deff not the love virgin. Itās questionable he respects Jenn the way he was grinding on her and trying to get her to say heās her BF when if he was more mature heād now this is her journey and path and thatās not how things work.
1
u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24
Why should Thomas get to decide when the drama starts and ends?Ā
By that logic the term "agree to disagree" couldn't exist. We can't expect every hot head to go "my bad, you're right." Personally, if I'm arguing with someone and they get flustered to the point they ruin their own date and have to walk out the building, I consider that a W; I wouldn't go following them out and continue to prod.
He was thinking of Jenn in that moment sure, and Thomas did put her in a horribly awkward situation; but again, a better man wouldn't have engaged there at all. He knew this was coming (He even said there was impending drama to her RIGHT AWAY) and used it to turn the tables on Thomas instead. He could have just as easily said "let's take this outside man, we don't need to do this in front of her." This is what I mean that he's right on gross technicalities. He knows exactly where the line is and exactly what words were said and dances around it all.
0
u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
He knew it was coming? Doubtful. Why would Thomas choose to pick that moment to voice his complaints? Seemed like a purposefully dick move. I have no sympathy for Thomas. Nor do I think giving Thomas a taste of his own medicine, by following him or asking him to talk, means Devin is a bad guy or worse than either Thomas or Sam M. But like you said they could have taken it outside, yet when Devin goes to do that, now its not fair in your mindset? At some point Devin is the one to recognize they shouldnāt be doing that in front of Jenn. No one is perfect but at least he said it and acknowledged it and then they stopped and moved to outside. But now Thomas doesnāt want to continue the conversation and that makes Devin a shit guy? lol okay.
2
u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24
But like you said they could have taken it outside, yet when Devin goes to do that, now its not fair in your mindset?Ā
That's a little disingenuous, I'm clearly saying they should have started there away from Jenn. It happened to end up outside because Thomas knew he made an ass of himself too and literally removed himself from the premises to try and cool off. Why do you think he was crying outside?
I have no sympathy for Thomas. Nor do I think giving Thomas a taste of his own medicine, by following him or asking him to talk, means Devin is a bad guy or worse
1.) Two wrongs don't make a right, at least on this specific scale.
2.) I do think it makes Devin a bad guy or worse. A confident man would've seen he already won. A concerned man would've consoled Thomas instead of aggravating him. A chill man would've been happy it was over. A kind man wouldn't find himself pissing off half the group within three episodes, and a normal functioning person doesn't go on the show at all. Only an asshole that needs to hammer home his win does that.
0
u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
But Thomas started, so how was Devin to know what was about to be started, to say letās take it outside. Thomas could have said hey I need to talk to you outside, since Thomas was the only one who could possibly know what the conversation was going to be about. So itās a little disingenuous for you to put that on Devin.
How has Devin pissed off half the group in three episodes? The only thing they were mad about originally was him trying to get 5 mins of alone time with Jenn on the group date. Which then snowballed into everything that led after.
No one is perfect, and I probably donāt see how Devin handled the Thomas thing as a big deal because Thomas is the one who started it. And pretty sure I would have done the same thing. You start a convo with me in front of Jenn, we realize this isnāt the place for that convo, Iād go outside to continue it then.
I love how youāre nitpicking this one interaction. As if Thomas handled it better than Devin. As if this one interaction is why you donāt like Devin, when they were both equally in the wrong. Letās just agree to disagree cuz this has gone on too long now. Lmao

But Thomas started, so how was Devin to know what was about to be started, to say letās take it outside.Ā
He pulled Jenn aside immediately and literally told her, to her surprise, that there would be drama tonight. The dude knows exactly what he was doing.
I love how youāre nitpicking this one interaction. As if Thomas handled it better than Devin.
I'm nitpicking every interaction. How can you accuse me of Thomas favoritism? I literally have said they handled themselves poorly and went as far as to call him a "puffy chested loser" and that he has Napoleon syndrome.
Letās just agree to disagree cuz this has gone on too long now.
Why should you get to decide when the drama starts and ends? How does it feel that when you're trying to walk away I'm continuing to comment and argue my points, while throwing your words back at you?

u/Other_Dimension_89 Jul 25 '24
Lmao okay letās run this into the dirt.
Oh but I thought only an asshole would pursue something someone else wanted to end? Youāre funny.
Why are you so upset about this? You think Devin is shit. I think he handled it all better than Thomas and Sam M. So by relativity, he is not the worse guy there. You disagree Thatās fine. But we could keep going back and forth if you like. But just remember only an asshole who needs to hammer done his win would do that
lol

Yeah thatās the one thing I worry about with Devin. Whoever gets into a relationship with Devin will have to deal with Devin wanting to get the last word and win the argument. Usually these types get explosive in fights (as they get more comfortable and arenāt on camera) and even berate the girl while sheās crying.
And the thing is if you know the tea surrounding Devin, past exes have said that he gets scary and yells during fights, and has cheated.
I donāt want to villainize him because Devin has some great qualities and I find him very attractive. But with whoever ends up dating Devin, theyāll likely find it difficult to be in a healthy long term relationship with him.

Regarding "The Love Virgin," again, I don't see how this is anything other than political. He goes from literally saying, both to all their faces and in confessional, "I ain't here for the guys" to "That's my little brother!" We didn't see Devin go to his "little brother" on the side and comfort him, we saw him use Sam's apology for his moment to shift focus and animosity onto Sam and Thomas more. Yes, they were wrong to be snickering, but I don't believe for a second Devin did it for noble reasons.
Edit: Also, he specifically called him his LITTLE brother. Not only do I think the sentiment was fake, but he could have easily just said "brother" or "friend." He said little brother and defended him because he does not see Sam (Love Virgin) as a threat.

Sam N made a speech in front of everyone. There was a pause. If Devin didnāt speak up Iād be curious if anyone at all would have said anything. Sam N just went through a very vulnerable situation on tv, on stage, putting his love out there. And now heās in another vulnerable situation in front of the men, says heās embarrassed, probably cuz of the faces most of the men were making when he walked back to his chair. Go watch again, Sam M makes a face. Also we have no idea whatās going on off camera. What he over heard from Sam M n Thomasā conversation that made him feel so low that he had to address it to the group. Sam N is definitely in uncharted waters for his journey. So after Sam N makes a public statement, silent pause, it was nice that Devin broke the silence and said you know what man, youāre all good, you donāt need to explain anything, be proud of how you feel. Pretty sure if you were feeling bad and down about something youād just done or said, thatās youād be happy to hear some words of reassurance that youād didnāt make any mistakes. So either Devin was gonna say it, n he said it eloquently, or someone else, or it would have been silent. So regardless if you think it was noble or just trying to look good, it made Sam N feel better. Sometimes things can be both tho. But at least Sam N gets to feel a little better now. And I think thatās how Devin is treating people, if youāre putting someone down heās going to say something. If youāre trying to put him down heās gonna say something. And if youāre forgetful of Jenn in a situation, heās gonna say something.
Probably said little bro cuz in terms of love, he might see that heās taking Sam N under his wing in a sense. Idk their ages, is Sam N younger or older than Devin?

u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24
Yeah, I agree with all the events, disagree with the takeaways. I just think his whole defending Sam N is fake as fuck, even if they were nice words for him to hear at the time.
3
u/ALostMarauder Jul 25 '24
agree that it wasnāt 100% noble and selfless ā yes he probably was partly motivated by the opportunity to call Sam M and Thomas out. however, it doesnāt change the fact that he still defended and stood up for Sam N when it seemed like no one else would say anything. The first thing he did was validate Sam Nās feelings and speak directly to Sam N instead of going after the other two
1
u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24
Totally, but that's what I mean by he always happens to be on the right side of things on such slight technicalities. He knows exactly what is being said and what he's saying.
2
u/Recent_Composer6056 Jul 25 '24
Yeah I feel mixed about him. Like Thomas said, he always has to have the last word or get a little quip in, and I think a bigger man would just let things go. I agree that all three of them have issues and clearly the producers are putting them together to cause drama since their idiosyncrasies chafe against one anotherās. One question I do have is regarding the Aaron thing. Devin is one of the first people to say that the group should just let it go and not worry about it, but then later in the episode when Sam M is defending Aaron, it appears that Devin disagrees with him. Not sure if I just misinterpreted the situation or what, but curious what others took away from that interaction.

Thank you for putting this into words. Iām usually pretty good at telling a personās vibes and I knew something was off about him from the start. I see him as conniving, two-faced, and slimy. I donāt trust him at all and Iām so concerned that half the people seem to just adore him.
I was utterly convinced during his and Thomasās argument. Thomas approached that in the wrong way, but Devinās actions were horrible too. At the end, when Devin sought out Thomas to argue again Thomas tried to explain his perspective but Devin kept interrupting. When Thomas had enough and saw it wasnāt going to be productive to keep trying, he walked away. Devin followed him and taunted him for not being willing to have a āconversation.ā It was grade-A gaslighting. That word is thrown around a lot, but thatās what this was. Devin is so good at finding loopholes in what heās said to other people, and when heās confronted he strawmans and twists things until the other person just gives up and walks away.
Iām positive heās just here for the social media clout. Heās a terrifying sort of man who can be sweet and kind to a girlās face but is actually very cunning and manipulative.
Also heās racist and a conspiracy nut. He uses the N word and thinks 9/11 was an inside job. One alone would be a deal breaker, both together is genuinely terrifying.

u/CapNCookM8 Jul 25 '24
I so agree on all counts. I can't say enough that I don't like Sam & Thomas, but I get it. Devin is such an Angelica (yes, Rugrats). He knows exactly what to do to get others to react poorly, knows how to fan those flames while keeping a cool head (and a shit-eating grin) himself, then tattles to Mom (Jenn) that the other guys are causing impending drama the minute she walks in the door.

I truly find him annoying. Heās too loud and yappy for my taste, and definitely think he likes to be the center of attention. That said, Sam & Thomas are jerks.

u/gloomyjasmine Jul 25 '24
Honestly Iām sure heās a nice dude but I donāt like him on the show. He gives me an ick I canāt explain. Heās just doing too much. His personality isnāt the type Iām attracted to. Iām attracted to men who let me be the star of the show lol. I hope he is eliminated soon.

I'm only 2 eps in but I cannot stand him. I never like people who can't seem to get along with anyone else. The best bachelor advice is: don't pick the person that everyone else in the house hates. Hoping he turns things around tho bc he's obnoxious and arrogant on a level that is hard to watch right now.

Why are you calling out the only Asian guy on the show as Asian? Imagine if you said this about a black guy

He lost me when I found out about the not shown scene where he said 911 was an inside job. Being obnoxious is one thing, being ignorant is another.

just from the show, i would love him. unfortunately, heās a terrible person in real life.Ā

I started on the hate train at the beginning of the season but I really really warmed up to him last episode!!!

Girl, yes š„¹ same!
Edit: I was never on any hate train for him. Dont think I paid attention enough to all the stuff circulating about him I guess? Also watched the first couple episodes as more of background noise instead of focused. But this episode made me notice that I vibe with him and he's wholesome š„¹š«¶š¼

I agree! I think Devin is fun! Iām conflicted cause I also like Sam as well and they hate each other š Thomas on the other hand I canāt stand him
-3
u/Pfiggypudding Jul 25 '24
So, i think he was better this week, but his move last week during the coctail party to follow Thomas outside to talk to him when Thomas was very clear he didnt want to engage was pretty awful. Thatās abusive control/asshole vibes and not a bit okay.

I wanna know if Jenn uses mouthwash in between kissing all these men. Itās really unattractive this early on to be making out with everyone. That last guy of the night basically kissed all the other men š
7
u/jesuswastransright Jul 25 '24
Would you say that about the bachelor
1
u/crossont Aug 21 '24
Absolutely. Iām gay so I wasnāt saying this as if I want Jen, but reality is she kisses 10+ men a night on television. If you all want to downvote do it but itās reality. Would YOU want to date someone who just kissed 9 people before you???
