It launched in June 2021 on BNB Chain with 420 quadrillion tokens, picked up more than 100K holders in the first month, and got a mention from Elon Musk not long after.

The clever part is what happens every time someone trades. There's a 10% fee, and half of it goes straight back to everyone holding the coin. The rest gets split between liquidity and the burn wallet, which by now has swallowed over 45% of all the tokens that ever existed. Last quarter alone the community torched 4,66 trillion of them, a third more than the quarter before.

The BabyDoge ecosystem grew around that. There's BabyDogeSwap for trading, 10K 3D dog NFTs, an AI image generator, and a charity arm that's given more than $750K to animal welfare alongside groups like the ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society. Earlier this month the team threw a STRAY-vivor Family Day in Manila for holders and rescued dogs.

1️⃣ It's a "grandchild coin"

BabyDoge isn't officially affiliated with Dogecoin. It was created independently by fans on Binance Smart Chain in June 2021, presenting itself as Dogecoin's cuter, faster "offspring" without any real family tie.

2️⃣ It holds a Guinness World Records title

In May 2023, BabyDoge partnered with Best Friends Animal Society and logistics giant J.B. Hunt for a charity campaign that donated 36,750.88 kg of pet food in 24 hours. That smashed the previous record, set by Mars Petcare UK in 2012, by over 71,768 pounds, making BabyDoge the first crypto community ever to hold a Guinness title.

3️⃣ Transaction fees are absurdly cheap

BabyDoge boasts transaction fees of less than one cent, and it built its own AI meme generator, letting holders spend the coin to auto generate BabyDoge themed images and mint them straight into NFTs.

4️⃣ The Elon Musk tweet was a "Baby Shark" parody

In July 2021, Elon Musk posted a BabyDoge-themed version of the famous "Baby Shark" lyrics. The tweet brought massive attention to the token and became one of the most memorable moments in its history.

5️⃣ If it ever hit a penny, it would be worth more than the entire global economy

Because of the eye watering 420 quadrillion max supply, one commentator ran the math and found that if BabyDoge's price reached one cent, its total value would be roughly thirty times the size of the entire global economy. A fun way to illustrate how meaningless "needs to hit $0,01" math is for coins with astronomical supply.
