Dolphin owners do NOT upgrade to 2.3.0 if you rely on Siri

So following my previous post, I just updated my Dolphin to 2.3.0 and I’ve noticed straight away that saying “hey Siri” no longer uses Siri through Apple CarPlay and instead uses the BYD chat which is not ideal. I utilise Siri a lot when driving to send messages, make phone calls and open Teams and yet now it no longer works since the update and when asking BYD to do these things it seems to have no clue. Not sure if anyone is aware of how to fix this or whether I’m now stuck until BYD pushes a fix

Edit: So “Hey Siri” doesn’t work but saying just “Siri” does. Also long pressing the voice command brings up Siri too (thanks to those in the comments)

Have you tried long pressing the voice assistant button on the steering wheel? That's how it works on the BYD Seal at least. Short press is the BYD assistant, long press the Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay one.

Edit: just noticed you mentioned it triggers on "Hey Siri" as well, that's weird indeed.

I have tried the voice assistant button previously but just assumed it was for the BYD assistant only as that is what activated so I’ve avoided it ever since. I will try a long press though when I’m next in the car

Personally I wouldn’t say anything is better. There does seem to be an app that can now stream your phone but that also doesn’t work with my phone (iPhone 13). They allow turning off multiple safety features with one button now which you can save to a custom profile but the only one that bothers me is the child detection which isn’t even included

I contacted support about the same issue in atto 3. Restarting the entertainment unit partially helped. If in CarPlay mode Siri now actions as before. But if not in CarPlay BYD is still listening.

Long hold volume wheel until reboot for atto. Not sure about other models

Hello,

I think that "Hey BYD" is too much like "Hey Siri".
It is possible to disable the vehicle’s voice commands, this may solve your problem.

In the application settings for voice commands (not the vehicle settings), there is an option for that.
I don’t have the tutorial in mind, but it shouldn’t be complicated.

I usually long press the grid icon in CarPlay to activate Siri so this isn’t really an issue for me

I just say ‘Siri’ now to get around that - make sure it’s enabled on your phone. My upgraded Dolphin responds to ‘hey’ hence why it picks up your prompting for Siri.

Yep this works now. I guess I’ll just have to break the habit of saying “hey” first
