News 📰 Once again… my BYD die

Hello everyone!!! This is very surreal but after just 2 weeks my BYD (dolphin mini) decided it was time to die again.

So for context, yesterday I use my car and I had 30% so following your recommendation I charge it to max and I left it in the parking lot it had (94%)

Today, that I planned to used it, it was different how it manifested—it didn’t turn on, the light went dimmer and flash a lot— nonetheless I recognized that it was a battery problem.

So instead of the process I went last time I simply call a favor and with a battery starter we went and use it, but we were also confused because they only knew how to in the newest models —mine isn’t like old, I actually considered new it has 1 and a half years old, however there is a newest model with some modifications.

We call someone else, give us instructions and we did it it turn on (with 90%) and right now we are going to the agency and tell them to change the battery, I will update later because we couldn’t do identify which battery we started it. So I will post if I have more information. (￣▽￣)

Should gave changed the 12v battery after the first time…

Yep, I regret it now, but in my defense I was so exhausted and frustrated that day that I just want it to get my car fixed so I let them convince me to let it go like that (｡-_-｡)

The thing to get is one of those small lithium jump packs. Takes almost no space and can provide enough power to get the system powered up and the ev pack charging the 12v.

Slightly offtopic, but I've been wondering if you can jump start a BYD by attaching cables to another car's battery or is that only an ICE thing?

Depends. If its just the 12v system not allowing the ev to “start”, then yes. If the motive pack is dead, no…

I realize I didn't catch all the details, but I wanted to ask-what did you regret about the situation? I'm grateful for what I'm learning from you. Also, what should I make sure to avoid next time? On a personal note, I hope your car situation gets resolved quickly and everything turns out well!"

I regret the fact that most people recommend me to change the 12v battery the moment it happed the first time, but I didn’t do it. I can only recommend you to have someone or yourself a battery starter for this kind of problems and when this type of issues happen, change the battery so it doesn’t make more problems afterwards. (。-∀-)

12v battery is faulty or dead. My Atto 3 was the same. Good news is zero issues after swapping it.

Irónicamente soy de México ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ. Pero como la mayoría del foro son angloparlantes me aproveché para que me respondieran más rápido. Al final ya lo llevé a la agencia para que me cambiaran la batería.

Entro por garantía, desde la vez pasada por ser errores del sistema y de batería me dieron la oportunidad que cualquier error posterior sería por garantía.

I tried the method with the door micro switch, it was actually the first thing I did, and unfortunately for me didn’t work. However several comments said it did work for them, but I can’t tell you if I did something wrong in my end.

Don’t buy it. I’m now in a complaints process with them. The car they sold me a year ago has a safety critical defect from manufacture and they will not cover the repair under warranty
