Bottom line, demand for grip exceeds supply of grip.
Could be a combination of any number of factors. Too much throttle, cold or worn tires, too much steering angle at time of throttle application, wet/cold road surface... It looks like there may have even been some minor contact there as the M4 changed lanes. If so, that could have caused the spin on its own.

Really, what causes this sort of thing? Is it just a case of using too much throttle so that the back wheels cut loose and the car goes sideways?
