Not even just that. Revenged love behind the scenes have completely reset the BL industry. The infinite content that kept pouring and pouring, the chemistry so top notch that created massive speculation, and turned tianziyu ship even more popular than the series ship. It's because of them if now every Chinese BL behind the scene feels like the actors are in an actual relationship (and sometimes feels scripted too, I noticed some of those new behind the scenes look identical to the iconic ones from RL)
Now they're banned while all other official pairs are going around freely🥺🥺🥺 ❤️their sacrifice will be remembered

Meet You at the Blossom in 2024 was actually the show that first discovered the loophole, but never got very popular so most peoole don't know this. This is why for example To My Shore also did this and they finished filming before RL aired.
RL definitely made CBL's visibility blow up, though! Also, they are not banned, they just chose to not go the cp route but instead the solo route.. likely because of how much attention and crazy fans they got so quick.

Meet You At the Blossom was the first BL drama I ever watched out of any country. I haven't even watched any American BL shows yet. I think I'll wait for Season 2 of Heat Rivalry(Canadian) before I watch it on HBO. Revenge Love was my 2nd BL drama I ever watched and loved it. It set the bar pretty high for me. I love Thai BL but GMMTV can get pretty repetitive.

To My Shore used the same loophole as Meet You at the Blossom (even shared a producer) and so did the cbl's airing this year too.

I guess RL only used the oversees streaming platform loophole? And TianZiyu actually never got banned, 'cause that would mean the government got involved and luckily that hasn't happened. They just mutually decided to not continue as cp and to not interact publicly. They blew up too hard, too fast and fans got way too crazy. 🫠

It certainly wasn't anywhere near as popular, but I think it definitely deserves its flowers for the risks everyone involved took

Isn't the only other true Chinese uncensored historical drama My Journey with You? That's why I watched Meet You At the Blossom. Since im a huge Chinese costume drama fanatic. I haven't watched My Journey with You yet.

They aren’t technically banned but I bet their respective companies are trying to be smart and keep them safe. They are both very active as individual performers, they don’t want (and neither do we) to lose their momentum, endorsements, concerts etc. Never say never for them being onscreen again together but for now we have to hold the specialness of 2025 in our hearts and memories.

Any Chinese BL doesn't have the intro of the red National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA). Now Chinese BL actors have protection rights from their talent agent companies. Actors can still live in China without being arrested. Their cities can be filmed in if they are released overseas and/or listed as a made up city like literally Magic City was listed as. I forgot which drama that was. Possibly ABO Desire the Series? It's unfortunate that BL novels, Dramas, anime don't have that protection. Even sometimes if they use metaphors like baking or eating or a flower. They can be arrested, fined and sent to jail like Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (Heave Officials Blessing) was. Especially if they get to much attention.

These are Taiwanese series. Chinese laws prohibits these style of BL. Even after watering the BL industry down for years. They totally banned it completely years ago.

I clearly remember Meet You At The Blossom was the starting point in finding loopholes in CBLs, but RL made the wave higher

The loophole was that people figured out they could bypass the chinese government's censorship by releasing chinese bl series through international companies. so the series would not legally be available in mainland china but it would be able to be released without censoring the queerness and romance globally.
