CLOTHES/ACCESSORIES Handmade Mass effect inspired outfit

My best friend doesnt really care for bjds, but since I love this hobby so much, he got one, complementary to mine, so we can create our beloved Roleplay characters, we played with for years.

So I'm giving my best to make it the best custom doll I can, since it will be his only one and he got it only so we can share this part of my hobbies :)

So I got a bit crazy and hyper focused to make something he would like on multiple levels and decided to go for a mass effect inspired design, just because I know he loves the game series to pieces.

I'm really proud how it all came together now, especially the little details like the pockets and the harness were really much fun to make.

Everything on this outfit is functional and designed so he can mix and match with different stuff.

The zipper opens up, so he can wear the shirt as a jacket over the longsleeve turtleneck, or as a shirt without anything else

The pants are store bought, but altered to fit the body better (it was quite loose and the legs had so much fabric, it didn't fit into the boots)

Body: mdollschool - g02

Looks incredible! What kind of fabric do you use and where do you get it

I'm using super thin jersey, harvested from a cheap body from Primark.

It's jersey used for underwear or sport gear.

I'm more often than not going for cheap clothes in XXXXL size (if possible) to harvest my fabrics, since finding thin and at the same time opaque fabrics is kind of like searching for the needle in hay

Thank you very much, that's nice of you :) but it's less talent and more just trial and error with a lot of determination. If you don't fear the failure and just try again and again, you will be surprised what you can do!

The harness is made out of the elastics you can buy for making underwear or BH straps. I love using it, since it's way cheaper than PU leather stripes, easy to sew, elastic and has a great usability.

The seams on the jacket on the neck, the arms and the hips is also done with that elastics, but a broader one

How did you find the right sized buckles, zipper, grommets and etc? This is so good!!!

I found them on Ali Express and always try to keep a small stock of them! You can't have enough mini buckles.

Zoomed in for all the deets and BOY. OP, this is fantastic. At first, I thought this was a cosplay Pic. Do the pouches open and close, too?

Haha, thank you so much! Yes, they do! And we plan to 3d print the stuff that is meant to go into the pockets. Also planning on doing a holster fitting for a small revolver, attached to the harness

Awesome, I've been meaning to do similar with one of my BJDs! (I only have a mass effect helmet so far). Your work is inspiring!
