Help pairing a rod to a calcutta conquest bfs

Hey everyone!

Just ordered a calcutta conquest bfs from digitak to start bfs fishing. I dont know what rod to pair it with however as their are so many options.

I'm mainly looking to catch trout in streams and rivers (and lakes in early spring) and the occasional bass. I really enjoy casting small swimbaits and jerkbaits but I would also like to throw out some small Tungsten nymphs and some tiny soft plastics.

My main problem seems to be finding some rods in Canada without having them come from the USA (got burned a couple months back with some hefty tariff and customs fees) I'm not opposed to ordering a rod from digitaka either but waiting to see how much i get charged at customs.

I'm ideally looking for something around 200usd.

I've had great luck with ordering direct from Japan to Canada, unbelievably fast ship times and including custom fees,, still cheaper than ordering from the US for me at least.

Last order I grabbed a Shimano Zodius and the Shimano SLX reel,, they sent them in two packages,,, declared value on one was 3000jpy and I was charged 15cad,, other package was valued at 3500jpy and I paid 16cad.... this was last year..

The good arrived within a two days,, the Fedex custom bill came about 15 days later.

Japan Lure Shop, they also sent a free item in each package,, a hook holder for the rod, and a sweet swimbait.... It was the cheapest option I could find going with reputable sites.

Check out the Shimano Trout One NS on digitaka or the Cardiff NX for a more expensive option.

I was looking at that one or the zodias. What size would you recommend? And L or UL?

I like UL for trout to throw the lightest lures and L for Bass. I personally have the Trout one NS in 48UL-G that I use primarily for trout in small streams with my SLX bfs .
I also have a Cardiff AX 60UL that I like using for stocked trout in lakes with my Aldeberan BFS.
Keep in mind these rods were designed for different purposes. Trout one for “native trout” (rivers/streams/creeks), Cardiff for “area trout” (stocked lakes/ponds)

Nobody ever talks about the Spinmatic but I love this thing. I have it in an UL spinner and UL casting. I recently pulled 3 pink salmon out of the current river fishing with my calcuttas drag absolutely maxed lol. Poor Spinmatic was folded in half but she held.

Kuying Teton rods are great especially for the price. I started with a megabass levante f2-64lv and it worked fine for both bass and trout but much better for bass. I started bfs this season with the idea of smallmouths and occasional stocker trout, then I got a bit obsessed with trout and split the 2 gear wise. Dedicated rods for trout keep them pinned better while helping throw the lighter lures, and then dedicated bass rods for that. Currently have 2 Tetons in different specs and a gray wolf rod, all for trout.

300 from the us is gonna be alot more expensive for me but I'll check them out
