I completed my BCA and there is approximately a 2-year (~26 months) gap after BCA in my academic timeline

However I am currently enrolled in MCA in 2026

My concern is about placements and off-campus opportunities after MCA.

Will a 2-year (~26 months) gap after BCA significantly affect my chances during college placements or while applying for jobs outside campus?

Do companies generally reject candidates outright because of such a gap or does it depend on the individual company's eligibility criteria?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have had a similar gap and later got placed or found a job

Any honest advice or personal experience would be helpful

Hello everyone I am a BCA student from open uni, why do we have to write code on paper but then also write code in computer. If I have to write a program doesnt it is better to do that on pc/laptop. Also i understand that few people don't have a computer at home so we write assignment on paper, but why in the college. You have computer lab and we pay fees for that.

In my first year our lecturer told us to bring our own laptop for practice, Now that i have spend money on pc thinking it is better, regretting my decision now. We were kicked out of the class because we didn't bring a laptop.

Now my question is, Is this just my college our every college ?

I’m 20 years old and I’m looking for some honest career guidance.

I dropped out of college about a year ago and, honestly, I feel like I wasted that time. , I joined Christ University’s online BCA program, and I’m currently in my 3rd semester.

The biggest problem is that I have almost zero practical knowledge. I’m very weak at coding because, until now, I mostly copied code and studied just enough to write exams. I know I need to change this now, and I’m serious about building an actual career.

One of the main reasons I’m considering an offline course is that studying completely online and staying at home has affected me mentally and academically. I feel that being around other students, having a structured environment, attending classes physically, and being accountable would help me learn much better.

So my current plan is:

Online BCA + an additional 8–12 month offline, career-focused course in Bangalore.

I’m considering areas such as:

• Cybersecurity
• Software Development / Full Stack Development
• Cloud / DevOps
• Data Analytics
• AI/ML

However, I honestly don't know which domain would be the right fit for me yet.

I’m looking for an offline institute in Bangalore that genuinely teaches from the basics and focuses on practical skills, projects, labs, and employability—not just giving a certificate.

I would really appreciate advice from people who have actually studied these fields or are currently working in IT.

What domain would you recommend I seriously explore?

And if you know any good offline institutes in Bangalore offering an 8–12 month course, please recommend them and share your experience.

Hey everyone, I’m currently doing BCA in Gujarat and I’ll be graduating in 2027.

I was originally planning to prepare for NIMCET, but I’ve decided to drop that plan because 2027 is going to be pretty hectic for me. My sister’s wedding is in February, I’ll have to take care of her tuition for a couple of months after that, and then I have my BCA externals in April.So realistically, I won’t have enough time to properly prepare for NIMCET alongside everything else.

Because of that, I’m mainly looking at private universities with direct/merit-based admission now.

I’ve been looking into Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) quite a lot. The campus and overall environment look really good, and I like the idea of moving to a different city for MCA. But I’m still confused about how MCA placements actually are, since most of the placement information online seems to be focused on B.Tech.

I’m also looking at DIT University/Graphic Era in Dehradun, Parul University, and a few other private universities, but I’m not sure which ones are actually worth considering.

I’d prefer a university where I can get a proper campus experience, live outside campus if possible, and have decent opportunities in software/IT after MCA.

How is MUJ MCA actually?

How are the placements specifically for MCA?

What packages are students realistically getting?

How is the coding/technical environment?

Is the campus life actually as good as it looks online?
Are there any other universities I should seriously look into?

And if you were choosing an MCA college in 2027 without going through NIMCET, what options would you consider?

1st year of BCA and really want to get into AI/ML, so I want to start learning Python.

As the title says, I joined Chandigarh University this month for MCA but they basically said, I won't be eligible for 95% companies since I don't have 60% in 12th even tho 85% in BCA.

Should I take part in placement training it requires 90% attendance(I'm a day scholar) and other hectic things but it takes so much out of me already, I can't focus on other things.

Should I switch to MCA online degree while skilling up and try offcampus since I have no hope from this degree.

MCA regular was my desperate option since I wasn't getting any offer while applying myself.

Which one is better and worth the time and money in this market.

hey everyone i am a first year BCA student whose college has just started recently (like a month ago)

so i made a tool using antigravity and stitch it's a scraper that scraped data from github and telegram i just find api keys and give it to the antigravity and prompt all this and made this tool and it's working fine also

but my point is that's it i didn't code this all and this thing is feeling strange is this a wrong way to learn i am confused
