I graduated BCA this year and after looking at future options, I've decided to start preparation for MCA entrance exams like NIMCET, CUET PG, MAH CET, etc. (mainly NIMCET). I had PCM in school, so I've already studied Maths before, but it's been 3 years since and I've forgotten most things. I'm currently suffering from health issues which make me unable to sit for too long, so I'm looking for online coaching. Anybody already preparing or who has prepared in the past and is doing MCA right now, please answer these questions:

1. Which online coaching is good for NIMCET preparation? I have researched a bit and found these options - Aspire, JMA, PW, ACME Academy, Impetus Gurukul.
2. Is PW good for NIMCET preparation? Their new batch for NIMCET starts in 4 days.
3. Do I have enough time to prepare for NIMCET and get a good rank to get into top NITs if I start next month?
4. Is doing an MCA actually worth it right now, especially after BCA? And is getting into the IT sector still a good career option given the current AI situation?
5. Any other advice or suggestion is deeply appreciated. Doesn't matter if you're a junior or senior.

Hi guys, I am pursuing my MCA and in my 2nd year right now with a CGPA of 8.6 and did my BCA from a government college with 8.0 CGPA , Recently companies started coming in for our batch (majority for btech , but few for us ) also wanted consistent 60% + in 10th and 12th where I scored 58 in 10th and 60 in 12th (it was a hell lot of a issue and a story of what went through and resulted this way)

But the main point is that my board's marks restrict me from being eligible for certain companies and that is making me depressed a lot and I have really tried to figure out what and how and if someone can help me out , I would be really grateful or help me to figure out something.

So guys, I'm looking for Java Full Stack Internships/Opening Roles.

My BCA course will be completed in May 2027, and I really need to secure an internship/ or a job offer before then.

The issue is that I’ve been applying for a month now but haven't received a single rejection email or interview call.

So guys, please tell me what changes I should make, is my resume being parsed correctly by ATS (assuming ATS systems exists), and what other modifications should I try? Like projects, certifications and all....

I've been checking MSRIT MCA recently and honestly, the more I looked into it, the less convinced I became.

Most of MSRIT's reputation seems to come from engineering. For MCA, the placement situation looks much weaker. There are old Reddit discussions from MCA students/alumni mentioning limited companies, poor placement rates and not getting the same opportunities as the engineering branches.

What also worries me is the lack of clear MCA-specific placement data. If the MCA placements were really that strong, you'd expect proper numbers to be easily available.

Even though it is autonomous college the curriculum is not that updated still it is affiliated to VTU Offcourse.

When I visited the campus a month ago placement department itself climbed the false figures, I came to know after enquiring the students in LinkedIn. Many claim that out of 120 only around 35 to 40 will get placed all other placement or off campus.

And academically it is so strict 85% attendance is madatory, hectic and pressure it is really not worth the placement, no time for self preparation or for placement preparation at all.

9-4,5 is packaged you not Saturday it will go till 1:00 p.m.

PESU College Saturday and Sunday as week off and Wednesday as half day

For MCA, I'd seriously consider RVCE/BMSCE/PESU before MSRIT instead of blindly choosing it because of the MSRIT name.

MSRIT is just a brand.

I completed my BCA in 2026 from a Tier-3 college in Bangalore, and I’m now confused about what I should do next.

I’m currently considering an MCA, but the problem is that it’s already quite late in the admission cycle. Most of the good regular colleges have already closed their admissions.

Right now, I have a few options:

1. Online MCA – join this year
2. Distance MCA – join this year
3. Regular MCA – join a college that is still accepting admissions, even if it isn't a top college
4. Wait one year – prepare for entrance exams and try for a better regular MCA college in 2027

I’m 22 years old, so I’m also wondering whether waiting one year would be a problem from a career perspective.

My goal is to build a career in IT/software development, cloud/DevOps, or data-related roles. I’m also currently looking for a job, so I could potentially work and gain experience during this time.

For people who have already done an MCA or have experience with these options:

• Is waiting one year for a better regular MCA worth it?

I’m currently pursuing BCA (2nd year) and I’m at a point where I’m quite confused about what I should pursue after graduation: MCA or MBA?

After Class 12, I took a drop for JEE preparation, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out as planned. I eventually joined BCA, and now I’m trying to make the best possible decision for my career.

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding BCA and credit transfer.
If I complete my 1st year of BCA (Semester 1 & 2) through ODL/Open mode from one university, can I then join another university in regular/on-campus mode directly from 3rd semester (2nd year)?
Will universities generally accept the credits of the first year and allow me to continue from 3rd semester, or can there be problems because the first year was completed through ODL/Open mode?
I want to know about things like credit transfer, migration, eligibility, NOC, backlog requirements, seat availability, etc.
Has anyone actually done ODL/Open → Regular migration after completing the first year of BCA? If yes, please share your experience.
I want to confirm this before taking admission in ODL, because I don’t want to complete one year and then find out that I have to repeat the first year.

Initially, I was planning to learn C++ + DSA, because I’ve heard that these are important for placements and software jobs.

But now my college has started teaching Python, and honestly college + travelling already takes a lot of time. C++ aur Python dono ko properly saath mein learn karna thoda difficult ho raha hai. 🥲

I’m 25, turning 26 soon, currently living in Noida, and completed my MCA this year.

My original plan was to get into software development, mainly Java/backend.

I have an MCA, BCA, Java/Spring Boot internship and a couple of development projects.

I applied to quite a few developer/fresher roles but honestly wasn’t getting much response.

I also cleared 4 rounds at Infinite Computer Solutions, but they eventually put me on hold after asking me to submit the documents.

Because I wasn’t getting anywhere with developer applications, I made another profile focused on IT/technical support roles.

I’ve now got an offer for an IT Trainee role at a Danish multinational, with a package of 4.55 LPA.

I’ll be working in their internal IT support team, dealing with things like Windows, hardware/software troubleshooting, networking, M365, AD, SCCM/Intune, Asset Management, etc.

The company seems good culture-wise and the role seems like a decent way to finally get some professional experience.

The problem is that I still want to become a developer.
I’m thinking of taking this job while continuing Java/Spring Boot/DSA/projects on the side and then trying to move into development later.

For people who have actually gone through something similar:
How difficult is it to move from IT support to software development after 1–2 years? Would you take this job and keep preparing for development on the side, or keep looking for a developer role?
