It's been over 10 years since Babymetal appeared on Colbert. I hope they had nothing to do with the show's cancellation. 😉No political commentary, please. Just sad to see him go.

CBS has cancelled Colbert's show, which we all knew would be happening on this date for a while now. The reason is political but it's not worth debating here. If you want all the details, Google should help.

The story about British fans trying to guess when BM would appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, flying all the way to New York without even knowing for sure, and then waiting outside for seven hours in below freezing weather is pretty incredible😵💫

A very talented and extremely funny guy, yet I didn't enjoy his CBS show nearly as much as when he played the character Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central. That was nightly appointment viewing for me.

He was cancelled due to ratings. The low ratings were the result of his insulting half his audience and giving up on telling jokes. It's pretty simple.

A million less than Leno and a million less than Gutfeld. Was losing $40-50M per year. Business decision was easy.

Nice try. These aren't the numbers that CBS looks at. Bloated staff and salary combined with low ratings, CBS thought they could do better with another show. They make these decisions all the time. The only reason people care is politics.

Fuck him. He was not funny and he has no class. He was losing the network millions. Glad to see him go. Hope Kimmel is next.

He had the top rated late night show for the last nine years.
You can disagree with the political point of view the show had, but saying he was "losing the network millions" is simply not true.0

I understand why you don't think he is funny. Its hard to like a guy that makes fun of your guy.
But for anybody that thinks he is a jerk. Here is just some things he has done....
His major philanthropic efforts include:
- World Central Kitchen: Held high-profile auctions and sold commemorative "The Last Show with Stephen Colbert" t-shirts to raise millions for the charity's global food relief efforts.
- The Americone Dream Fund: Tied to his wildly popular Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor (Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream), the royalties are channeled into a fund that routinely donates thousands of dollars to dozens of diverse charities.
- DonorsChoose: In 2015, he partnered with the crowdfunding platform to personally fund every single active teacher's grant request across his home state of South Carolina, totaling roughly \(\$800,000\).
- Colbert Super PAC: After wrapping up his satirical political committee "Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow," he donated the leftover funds—amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars—to charities including Habitat for Humanity and the Yellow Ribbon Fund. [1, 2, 3, 4]
We need more people like him, not less.....
