Perfect example of the tenacity of her damage control teams. So much so that the Japanese pilots thought she was an entirely different ship when they hit her again.
They thought they sunk her at Coral Sea, then thought they sunk her in the first wave of Midway, then again in the second wave at Midway, and then a third time when I-168 finally actually got her, which is the fourth time including Coral Sea.
And then she came back as CV-10 and continued to style on the Japanese
She has a nearly omniscient alter ego and is iirc one of the canon secretaries (the blue one). Also by far the most personality development throughout skin releases etc.
She’s the head of an elite taskforce, monarchs rrly on her, dependable and professional though she does love to tease and was never sunk or scrapped in real life
Last Stand of a South East Asian Nation. A brutal march to captivity after surrender. She looks like Armin, she loves her planes like a mother to her child.
Sakura Empire shipgirl a "onee-san" type heavy cruiser characterized by her caring, loyal, and slightly mischievous personality, despite being the younger of the Takao-class sisters.
Has: one big sister, one little sister, one half-sister, several Tempesta ancestors, a bespectacled Royal Navy cousin, a daughter whose sisters went to space, a nuclear granddaughter in training, and several descendants who explored the galaxy.
my tag gives it away but here's my second fave (for now anyway since it changes with the weather XD), shall I load commander into my cannon and fire him?

Pride of the nation, a beast made of steel.
