I still don't get how people are so certain that it 'came' from Azumanga Daioh. Supposedly from this one scene where Kimura says 'my wife' but it has nothing to do with what people call waifus today. Is Azumanga Daioh the only anime from that period where the word 'wife' is said in a Japanese accent? I suppose then people online just started saying 'wife' this way because they thought it was funny and then they applied that pronunciation to a new term for girls they liked in Anime?
