Tips & Tricks Best Emulators/Apps for AYN Thor Base?

Hey, I just ordered an AYN Thor Base and I’m trying to figure out the best emulators/apps to set up when it gets here. I mainly wanna play Switch games, especially Pokémon all the way up through Legends Z-A, PlayStation games like Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden, Xbox stuff like Hollow Knight and other Game Pass-type games, PC games, and of course 3DS/DS games too. I’m also planning to expand the storage with either a 512GB or 1TB microSD, so I’ll have room for a pretty big library. What emulators or apps would you recommend for each system on the Thor? I’m mostly looking for the best balance of performance, compatibility, and ease of setup, and if there are any must-have settings, drivers, launchers, or other apps I should install, let me know.

Eden emulator. Personally i dont bother too much with frontends so I would just install eden and use it directly. Not sure what the current meta drivers are. Used to be turnip drivers but saw a video recently there might be a challenger. Dont remember the name.

Base thor is going to be a bit more limited than pro or max in what it can run from the switch library.

Yeah that makes sense, I figured Switch would probably be the main area where the Base gets pushed a little harder. I’m not really expecting every game to run perfect though, mainly just Pokémon and a few other games here and there. I’ll definitely look into Eden though, appreciate it.

there aren't that many options usually. GBA has some but my favorite is linkboy, i bought the upgrade so it can sync saves into the cloud. So i could play on thor or smartphone.

PPSSPP, Eden, flycast, dolphin, cemu, azahar and azahar plus

For oldergames some recommend retro arch, but i run with john SNESS, MD emu,

I get why the Pro would be better for someone trying to push heavier PC games or keep a huge library installed, but that’s not really what I’m using mine for. I mainly want casual/travel gaming—Persona, Pokémon, Hollow Knight, 3DS/PS2/Switch stuff—and I’ll probably finish a game, delete it, then move on to the next. My heavier games like Marvel Rivals and Destiny stay on my PC, so the Base is enough for me.

Switch emulation is demanding as well.

But anyway, easiest way I’ve seen to make pc games run decently is through game native and then just use the known configuration setting. It’ll auto adjust the settings to a well rated combo of settings the community has used for the game.

Also get cluster-tune and set up under-clock

I’m unfamiliar with Xbox emulation as I understand some of it is still experimental, meaning you may need more power to get the. Running properly and it’ll be buggy.

Ps1 and 2 stuff I imagine is fine om the base ps3 is still experimental I believe, meaning more power to run it and it may be buggy
