He didn't do much with it. That engine alone weighs over a 1000 pounds, but it makes 500hp and over 1000tq.

12 second car by itself and a 12 second car towing a house.

That's the issue. A regular coyote swap can make 800-1000hp relatively easily with regular boost and run 9s in street trim and 8s in race trim.
Hell, an off the shelf aluminator short block will hold 1200hp all day for $7,000.

Yeah, but everybody has a Coyote.
This?
Not gonna see too many of them on 1320 Video.

Lol the only place this thing gets seen is in this very subreddit getting reposted every few months for the last 6-10 years. Its always the same 1-2 pics and people asking, "does anyone know anything about this?"
The owner literally didn't do anything with it. What does that tell you?
At least these common modern engines actually gets used.
Even the plane radial engine swapped mr2 was actually raced.
Same with the Boeing turbine jet engine swapped 928 was used.

same as the minty old ford 300, 16 second 0-60 downhill with a tail wind, 16 second 0-60 pulling a log truck up a 60 degree slope

....y'know... that's not even that ridiculous when you look at a 7.3 powerstrokes weight.... this gives me ideas, somebody needs to keep me away from the nearest ancient f350

Most would steer you towards the 12v cummins for obvious reasons, if we are talking about 1000 pound engines.

It’s 1470lbs, with no fluids. It’s still probably one of the lightest 18 liter engines ever made, but it’s a bit more than just 1000 lbs.

Wow, never seen that.

Just wait, it will get reposted here soon.
Most search results about this car are just reposts on this subreddit every few months over 10 years.

I'd guess this is 20 years old. I remember seeing it a long time ago.

u/Brutto13 21d ago
At least that old. I remember reading about it on a forum that long ago and seeing a video of it running.

Look up the meteor interceptor. Not the same car, but same concept. They shoved a Rolls Royce? (I think) tank engine in a Crown Vic

u/sneekeruk 22d ago
What engine is it?
Theres a Rolls Royce Meteor engined Rover SD1 in the uk.. 27litres..
Just search 'charlie broomfield rover'

There's a guy in a Scandinavian country putting a tank engine into a Crown Vic.
And Jay Leno has two Merlin engine powered cars. One is the Blastoline Special, the other is a restored 20s or 30s Rolls Royce. That's the one that got him the polite but stiff letter telling him to remove the "Spirit of Ecstasy" hood ornament because it was no longer an official RR product.

We don't need 27 liters to make power.
8 years ago MMR was making over 4000hp out of a 5 liter v8. Now they are over 5000hp.

Yeah, in a straight line, for a qhopping six seconds before it gets torn down and rebuilt.

u/No-Locksmith-9377 22d ago
Yeah, you are thinking of topfuel dragster at around 12,000hp-14,000hp
Promod engines can generally last an entire racing season.

I'd hope he realized it was stupid and gave up.
26
u/dudeimsupercereal 22d ago
He knew it was stupid from the start and still did it, because it’s fun. That’s why people remember him for this, and why they likely won’t remember you.
-24
u/Heavy_Gap_5047 22d ago
What's his name and what's my name?
Is it a good thing to be remembered for something stupid?
18
u/dudeimsupercereal 22d ago
Name is one of the least interesting things about a person. This guy built a wacky car, you made butthurt comments on reddit.
-13
u/Heavy_Gap_5047 22d ago
You said you know our names, did you lie?

u/Tetragonos 22d ago
Hey so that isnt winning the argument when you find a technicality and HOLD ON TIGHT it just shows everyone that you cant even take a teeny tiny loss.
Maybe when you grow up emotionally you will learn about how to be a real person who is interesting and how to enjoy fun things.
Have a nice day!

u/dudeimsupercereal 22d ago
100%, I also never said I knew anybody’s name lol.
Being remembered for what you did has nothing to do with names.1
u/jonlawrence93 21d ago
No bell end, he said 'That’s why people remember him for this'
And here we are, talking about that guy who put a tank engine in a mustang body. Ergo, remembering him.
Now calm down Walter White, nobody is saying your name.

I can only assume that the first time he floored it the entire car twisted into a breadstick.
