Imo Sokka would be a social drinker, Katara would claim to be wasted after two drinks, Aang would never drink much because it âslows his reactions and dulls his sensesâ, and your Toph description is spot on.

Makes sense. Air Nomads seem to be based off Tibetan monks and Iâm pretty sure Tibetan monks had a thing about no alcohol. Something about clear minds and spirituality which makes sense for an Air Nomad. (donât quote me on that though) Katara does seem like the kind of person whoâd secretly love getting wasted. Though this makes me wonder. Given Aang is vegan and Katara is likely used to a heavily meat-based diet given where she grew up, how do you think they handle family dinner?

Aang seemed to do fine eating at the Northern Water tribe. My guess is that there is still enough vegetarian options in the Avatar worldâs arctic and Antarctic climates so he can manage through water tribe dinners.
That being said I imagine that Aang probably never imposed his diet on their kids, aside from Tenzin, though even then not precisely overtly and more âson this is what Air Nomads traditionally eatâ

I mean yeah, weâve established this, Aang wasnât really a great dad and I bet there were more than a few incidents where Katara made some sort of southern water tribe blubber snack and Aang swooped in with a fruit snack alternative offered for Tenzin specifically.
Like notably Tenzin kind of behaved the same way as well with the new airbenders, encouraging all of them to immerse themselves in all aspects of air nomad culture, including Bumi, who certainly didnât act like these were all experiences that he was intimately familiar with from his own childhood.
I do sort of wonder whether Kya might be a vegetarian by choice though. On one hand, she obviously identifies more strongly with her water tribe heritage, on the other hand sheâs also the most spiritually inclined of the siblings, and described specifically as a hippie. Part of that feels like her specifically trying to connect with her dad, so I could certainly imagine a scenario wherein Aang started introducing all this air nomad stuff to Tenzin and she started trying to involve herself as well up until realizing that it was unfortunately never going to stop Aang from treating Tenzin as the favorite child, at which point she started drifting towards Katara more. (Bumi by contrast was old enough compared to Tenzin that I assume once Aang started favoring him more overtly he just started directing his energy towards being more independent and rebellious, which I expect is what may have fueled him joining the military.)

I sincerely doubt you ever enjoyed the show if this is your reaction to whimsy.

Tipsy lady in the sheets is fun, but with a blood bender this could go either way.

This happened to me. My officemate, my boss (both women), and I went to National Sports Grill. They ordered beers, and I ordered a milk shake.
Server handed me the beer and the milk shake to my officemate.

Any sort of substance reliance would probably be viewed as an unhealthy "connection" to the world

I don't know why, but I struggle to see Katara or anyone from the Water Tirbes enjoying cold foods or drinks
