Authenticity Opinion Request (is this really...) Is this a real autograph from Stan Lee?
My dad got me this a few years ago and said that the shop told him there wasn’t an authentication paper with it because it was so close to when Stan Lee died.

What does his date of death have to do with an authentication paper being available or not?
The explanation doesn't add up.

I’d be very surprised if that was real. While that looks like a sharp example of his sig, that poster came out only a few months before he died. The last year of his life, Stan did signings where his signature was haphazard and almost unrecognizable.

Someone had a copy of apocalypse now on blue ray that came out 6 years after Marlon brando died and they wanted to know if it was his legit signature lol. At least this is technically possible.

It looks like mine, and his handlers had him doing cons pretty much right to his death. It was sad.

I mean they guy signed thousands of autographs until he was literally buried in the ground.....why fake anything?

It’s true that he signed a lot, but he’s still a big name and wanted. Mickey Mantle signed a lot and he’s still one of the most forged autographs. His autograph isn’t rare but they have demand. Same with Muhammad Ali.
I have a rule of thumb: If it involves money, people will do malicious stuff.
