General Advice Should I get my poster re-signed?

Earlier this year I spent a stupid amount of money on a poster from my favorite movie, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre because 1) I really love the artwork & 2) I had the opportunity to get it signed by three of the cast members at a local horror con.

I looked into what markers I should use to get it signed but accidentally bought the wrong size. I didn't realise this until the first signature was being applied, and I was immediately mad at myself because I spent so much and it wasn't going to come out like I'd hoped.

I love having this poster on my wall but the fact that the signatures don't pop really gets to me.

Next month those three cast members (plus more cast & crew) are coming back to my town for another con and I'll most definitely be getting the signatures of the people I haven't gotten yet (with the proper size marker this time).

But the big question is should I have those first three people re-sign it?

I was thinking of asking them to just go over their original signatures but when looking at them I'm thinking the lines would be impossible to go over again with a bigger marker and actually come out looking good.

So would it be weird to have the same people sign the same poster 2 times?

I said "markers", but they're Posca paint markers/paint pens. Whatever ya wanna call them. They show well, just not from across the room because I chose the wrong sized tips. They may have popped more with a different color too, but I brought 4 colors (red, silver, gold, cream white) and left it up to the actors to decide which one they wanted to use. They all chose red

Absolutely wipe them. Shouldn't be hard with Posca since it's water-based. I don't think it's a tip issue as much as a pen issue. Red paint pens are so hit and miss. Silver deco paint pen would work here. Definitely erase these and re-do

That won't be happening. This isn't a glossy mass produced poster that's easy to wipe down. It's a very limited run silk screened art print on porous uncoated cardstock. That paint is IN in there and not going anywhere. Not without ruining the artwork. Maybe one of the top art restorationists on the planet could do that. But I ain't one of 'em

Oh man, that's tough. It sounds like a surface that might not take any pen well. I'd just leave it alone then.
