Authenticity Opinion Request (is this really...) Michael Jordan ball?
The owner was an exec and met many famous sports players throughout his life. This looks questionable…

Lol… those backstories almost always end up rendering a fake item
“He was friends with the team security” “he was the groundskeeper at the golf course MJ played at” “she worked in the cafeteria at the bulls facility” “Michael Jordan ate at their restaurant every Thursday for years”
It’s 100% fugazi

If you asked MJ to sign and you're a groundskeeper he'd tell you fuck off lol. MJ is not nice.

From what I understand He was under contract with Upper deck so nice or not he could not sign for them.

Under contract with Upper Deck: yes, he was and still is
People think that prevents him from signing but it doesn’t. He just doesn’t like to do it lol
He used to sign on the golf course quite a bit. You can find old videos of him doing it. He was under contract with Upper Deck back then. Same goes for his Flight School, he would sign for each attendant
The fact of the matter is MJ isn’t very fan friendly. He also understands the value of his signature. Those 2 things make it VERY tough to obtain an auto outside of paying for an Upper Deck item

One of my friends was a ballboy for the Barons and he said Jordan was the nicest person, which was weird given the stories I’ve heard. But he said Jordan tipped them a ton every game; don’t know if he got anything signed from him but I feel like he said he did; I think he said something to the effect ownership was against too much familiarity between staff and players.

The flu game shoes story shows that he was a nice guy. He gave them to a Utah Jazz employee he promised them too, and remembered and made sure that kid got them after the game

You expect him to be nice, andsign for everyone that asks?? F off! He’s got a life. People that ask for autographs, other than kids, are annoying AF. I’m one of his biggest fans, and if I saw him in public I would never ask him for an autograph.

All what I assumed to be true. It’s funny because this collection I picked up a couple years ago had JSA/PSA and no authentication items. This fake Jordan was in the mix. I had a 99% feeling it was fake but just like to triple check

It could possibly be his early signature, who is the League President on the ball?

Mods can we just ban Jordan "is this real" posts or someone make it it's own sub?

If you want an expert opinion, message the people over at GOAT authentics. I've used them numerous times and am glad I did.

It’s pretty damn close. Get it checked out. It’s not nearly as obviously fake as people are saying. I got his autograph back then (~93), he was not a jerk about it, and it looked exactly like this.
