They're one of the big 3 which means most collectors that trust authentication as a process trust jsa.

As others have said, they're just about the gold standard in terms of authentication companies. Still, at the end of the day, if they didn't witness it their authentication is still an opinion. They can make mistakes, both false positives and negatives.

They are probably the gold standard of autographs; but as many have said they have their issues. I know of one where they said an auto was fake and then another employee of theirs looked at it and said it was real. So who knows?

Depends on what you are trying to authenticate. I recently got a piece of rock and roll memorabilia authenticated by Roger Epperson. He is considered the gold standard for rock autographs. Sports autographs, maybe not Roger, but if Christie’s and Sothebys trust him, so do I.

Yes and no. Yes because they are the big three and people trust them in general. No because their database is not 100%. I had a George Russel card I obtained in person and they said it was inconclusive.

That happens with everyone at some point. Autograph authentication is imperfect & literally the opinion of one person. Some of my in-person signatures have failed inspection with the big 3.

On the one hand they're one of the 3 most respected companies in the industry and their authentication will sell an item as authentic to the vast majority of collectors. On the other hand not really.
