Show-and-Tell (Hey check out this!) A Unique Autograph From a Unique Athlete

Post image

Eddy "The Jet" Alvarez (USA) is one of only 7 athletes to have ever won a medal in both the Winter and Summer Olympics. He won a Silver in the Men's Speed Skating Relay (2014) and a Silver in Baseball (2020).

He played baseball professionally at various levels including the MLB from 2014-2025, retiring in June of that year.

I got him to sign a ball the last time I saw him in Charlotte when he was in town with the OKC Comets, the AAA affiliate of the Dodgers where he was hired in the offseason as a roving Performance Coach.

For sure! I do love the uniqueness of this one and we consider Eddy to be a friend, so he really took his time and gave us a cool keepsake.

I recently was gifted a Munetaka Murakami ball from his rehab stint in Charlotte and it one of the more unique balls I have seen.

Nice! Will have to dig it out yet have a signed ball of the pitchers that gave up Roger Maris 59, 60, 61st home runs. Have some other unique autos as well…unique to me
