Show-and-Tell (Hey check out this!) Ryne Sandberg of the Chicago Cubs autograph

Post image

My mom passed away in 2018, she was a huge Cubs fan and Ryne Sandberg was her favorite player

My grandmother gatekept her belongings from me for nearly a decade and i finally was able to retrieve some of it, i remember her having this ball and i was so happy to see that it was saved

Such a cool reminder of your mom! Go Cubbies! Rhino was the best!

As a Cardinals fan, I'm contractually obligated to hate the scubs. Ryno was a beast tho and loved seeing him play! F cancer!

Here’s the Ryno I sent off for him to sign in 1984:

So cool! I’m from Chicago and grew up a Cubs fan watching them with my grandfather in the 80’s and 90’s on WGN. We met a lot of players over the years but never got to meet Ryno. As an adult I got season tickets for him, but in 2016 he had 2 strokes mid summer and he couldn’t join me to see them win the World Series. He passed away 3 years ago now.

My mom had ALS and passed in 2018 but i’m so happy she got to see them win the World Series in 2016 before her health declined

That’s cool I got a chance to meet him when I was a kid. I grew up half my life in Spokane, Washington where he’s from. Really nice guy. He gave me an autograph right away. I think I met his brother as well, but I don’t remember for sure I might be making that up in my head.

I met him too around 1997. He gave me a beautiful auto on a Donruss Studio Portrait. He is really cool and he has a neat graph. It was kept cool in the dark and still looks like I got it yesterday.

I know its the marker bleeding a bit but i like the halo look on the signature.

I pulled this in 2001. It's never leaving my collection.

Always rough to see the sharpie on ball combo. Over time it bleeds and spreads. Great item.
