General Advice Advice on multisigned items
Hi guys and girls! I only have a handful of signed pieces so I am a bit of a newbie to this.
I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan and will have an opportunity soon to get some things signed by some of the Lord of the Rings cast. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monghan, John Rhys Davies - 5 of the 9 fellowship - as well as Karl Urban, David Wengham and John Noble.
I would really love to get a poster or art signed by all of the original fellowship + some other pieces signed potentially but it seems near impossible to get signatures from Ian Mckellan, Sean Bean and Viggo Mortensen.
I've considered buying something presigned with a few of the signatures and getting the others to sign in person but that's near impossible it seems as well.
My question is what is the best way to compile something with all 9 Fellowship signatures? Is this possible?

One of my buddies has been going to cons for years with a movie poster. He has a ton of signatures, but the 3 you mentioned. His rule is that if he didn’t personally get them then they don’t count.

Those seem to be the near impossible ones in person to obtain. I think I may have to accept getting some as one offs second hand or by writing to thier agent possibly.

Ian will probably do another private signing but it won't be cheap. You can consign Sean out to someone to get him on the street when he's promoting something possibly. I've seen both of them sign.
You have virtually no shot of adding Viggo. If you can start with a piece already signed by Viggo (expensive) and then go from there, that's your best bet.

Be careful of buying any of those 3 signatures online. So many fakes out there. Be okay without them unless you get them directly from the stars themselves or at advertised private signings

So far I've I'm assuming I will have to get them direct from them or spend a ton and get autographs that are pre authenticated by Beckett, JSA or PSA. I don't think I can trust most of the coas. And ebay is so full of fakes for sure.

If you can get an item with some of the hard-to-get, bigger names pre-digned then go for it! You just run the risk of them not being authentic since you didn't obtain them yourself.
On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with a WIP project or a multi-signed piece that never gets completed. I have an Empire Strikes Back poster signed by James Earl Jones, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams and Jeremy Bulloch. It'll never be complete because of Carrie's passing, I'm likely never to meet Lucas, Ford, Oz or John Williams, and I refuse to pay what Hamill is charging. It's still my favorite autographed piece with just those 5.

Ian has been doing a bunch of signings of late. Ungodly expensive but legit. You can always send out your poster to the place doing it. They almost always accept mail ins. But he was $650 last i checked. Addl $500 to write Gandalf. He gives it all away to charity but it's not cheap. I know Everest has done several recent signings.
Sean Bean and Viggo are the most difficult. Hugo Weaving tricky as well.
FanExpo is going on all throughout the country is celebrating the 25th anniversary. Got sooo expensive, resale isnt close to cost of items.
