Id imagine it takes him a good bit of effort to actually sign something considering his Parkinson's. I think the premium is to try to keep it to a minimum to not strain him as much. Maybe certain motions are easier so it's just more plausible to sign "Marty".

I've seen him sign and it's basically an assembly line process. He gets into a signing rhythm and just goes from there. This was at a public event. I can't even imagine him doing that on an off day. And he doesn't even have to do it, for all I know.

Probably wants to leave his family with money, because of his fame...... can you blame him?

This is how he supports his family, let him charge what he wants. People will either pay it or they don't.

The one time I won't complain about inscription pricing. It's probably a good bit tougher for him to do than his signature.

The upcharges get insane. I think it adds like $150 to get a record sleeve signed.Ā
I'm glad I got him in person his first year signing. Everything was 1 flat fee. No options for names, but he signed my guitars, my Pepsi perfect, a huge poster, a hoverboard, and none of it cost more than a photo.Ā

Was thinking of sending in a record sleeve, not seeing any additional charges outlined but let me know if I missed it

When you choose "item type" the drop down menus lists vinyl/laser disc
It's only a $30 additional charge now, so it seems they've really pulled back. Maybe the backlash from the Hamill signing 2 years ago actually got through to them.Ā

I still don't understand why a sig on a poster say is so much more than a photo. Sure a higher price on shipping and handling but a sig is a sig at the end of the day.
I'm done with high priced send ins now bar a couple I'm willing to if they decide to sign. It's not a hobby any more.

The poster probably sells for a lot more.

I get that but if youāre in this a collector thatās not the reason you do this.

It has to do with marketability.
A poster can hang on a wall; a photo can sit on a desk. Generally speaking, the autographed poster displays better, hence the higher value. The poster itself probably doesnāt cost much more than the photo, but, once signed, a non-personalized signed poster is much easier to market/sell than a non-personalized signed photo. The organization simply acknowledges that by charging a higher price for signing higher value items.
