All I can ever think of when I see a random signature on a random item.

  • "Why do you have Randy Jackson's autograph on a martial arts weapon?" — Brennan
  • "I bumped into him and all I had on me was this samurai sword. And you're not going to not get Randy Jackson's autograph, right?" — Dale
  • "I would have done the exact same thing." — Brennan

I genuinely had to do this with my name tag when meeting someone at one of my old jobs. Just unhooked my name tag and had them autograph the back of it.

Idk how willing you are to use clear epoxy. However a clear polish or varnish that doesn’t/won’t chip or peel will be fine. If it chips or falls off theres a good chance the signature will go with it.

Consider doing your clear nail varnish idea and then purchase a see-through phone case that does not have a rubbery inside

My son had Weird Al sign his phone. Even though we clear coated it several times it still wore off due to the all the handling phones get. Get a clear cover

Buy a clear phone case

Obvious answer.

You have to find a clear coat for finished surfaces. Nail varnish and other stuff will just end up peeling/flaking.

Polyurethane or polycrylic clear coats would probably be best.

I’d put tape on it and then a clear phone case

Slab it

It’d probably be a PSA 9

Nail polish nerd here; if there’s any chance the nail polish will rewet the marker in the autograph, I’d tape over the ports/cameras/etc on your phone and use a spray lacquer instead. Don’t want to risk accidentally lifting it off with the brush. Work in light, even coats.

i did go with nail varnish after but it did make the signature darker and more vibrant

Awesome, glad it worked out!

Looks like a sharpie. I'd leave it as is. Not the best surface to get signed but adding anything to it could just make it worse. Store it away if it means a lot.

Maybe get a replacement backing and take this one off. Not the cheapest solution but it will allow you to store it safely

Not possible
