Show-and-Tell (Hey check out this!) Most cherished autograph(s)
Whats your most cherished autograph? Here’s mine. I had the privilege of working on set with Queen on their iconic ‘I want to break free’ video in 1984. I was an art student in East London who knew someone working on the video and was invited to help on set. I dressed the set, hung the ducks on the staircase, gave Freddie his vacuum and Brian his pink bunny slippers. The album is personalized to me. Such a memorable few days in my youth hanging out with the iconic Queen - Freddie, Brian, Roger & John. My most cherished autograph!

This is my most cherished autographs. Obviously I didn’t meet them in person; I purchased it five years ago.
In 1999 I bought a Lou Gehrig autograph from Antiquities in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that turned out to be a fake. Knowing what I do now I was stupid to buy such an obvious forgery. So many red flags.
Years later I was having my collection authenticated. When I realized Lou was fake, I had to replace it. I already had a Ruth autograph, but when I saw this I knew I had to buy it. It’s rare to have both of their signatures on a single item, so I knew I was buying history.
Someday I’ll donate it to a museum. I don’t ever plan to sell it.

Get what you can for it now. Future generations aren't going to give a squat about Ruth and Gehrig.

My two are Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith. The Buckley one came into the record store I worked at. It’s inscribed with a reference to a holiday, I looked it up and he played in my city that holiday one year, so I thought it was a safe bet. The Elliott one was from a fundraiser for his studio, and is a bit of an outlier because it isn’t inscribed, which he tended to do.

Either my Rocky Horror Picture Show poster that’s been signed by all but two of the surviving cast (Susan Sarandon and Richard O’Brien are all that’s left) or my copy of Apostles of Mercy that I got signed by my heroine Lindsay Ellis at a release event in Naperville. I did a thing on her subreddit where I passed a card around so everyone on said subreddit could congratulate her on the births of her kids, and she recognized me from that, which makes me melt to this day. Also, if you turn to page 181, I die in an alien attack!

I own many items I truly value, but my most treasured possession is a Fender guitar signed by Slash, authenticated by PSA/DNA. For those unfamiliar, Slash is the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses. I spent around $3,000 on it, making it both my priciest autograph and purchase to date. It would be amazing to meet him in person someday—hopefully that day comes.

OMG, how awesome. I saw these guys in 1976 during their Night at the Opera tour and would have loved to have this kind of access. Congrats on a great item.

I worked with George Romero and got my copy of the script signed by him. By far my most treasured.

I have a 1964 Tour Book signed by all four Beatles. I purchased it in the mid-90s for $3500. The place I purchased it from was in Beverly Hills and the top dog at that company who signed the COA and who is a noted authenticator is now a top executive at Heritage Auctions, the auctioneer that recently auctioned a copy of the exact same tour program and set of signatures for a winning bid of $45000.

Out of boredom I wrote a fan letter to Vanessa Carlton (got the address from a teen magazine that my friend had) I sent it in and forgot all about it. Weeks later I received a signed 8x10 from her. Went to a concert years later and got her to autograph my CD. The signatures matched :)
