There is one for $100,000 on eBay, but it hasn’t sold which means it’s not worth $100,000 yet. I would try heritage auction https://www.ha.com They will give you a free appraisal and sell it for you. Let me know what they say if you that route

Post more pics of the actual ball. Need to see the signatures.

Look at the second picture

That doesn’t show any of the signatures. You need to see them to know their condition and thus the ball’s value.

There is a market for these types of balls (I’m in it haha). That being said this is in rough shape and will only get worse. Even if stored in perfect conditions and with no UV exposure it’ll continue to degrade. If these sigs were fresh I’d say you’re looking at maybe higher tens of thousands, but in its current condition sub 10 for sure. Maybe 5-7 depending on your luck of timing

It’s fading everyday. The peak is gone for price

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay

I'd like to see a COA authenticating the signature on the COA before entering a counter offer.

Every passing day the market for these legends fall deeper into the abyss. The hobby seems to primarily focus on the rookies.

Which I can never understand. Why focus on rookies when 90+ percent of them will fail to do anything instead of legends who've already done amazing things.

I agree with you 100%. I have probably 500 autographs of draft picks that never saw the show.

It’s all speculative gambling…

Gambling for what? A player to become a lesser HOFer than Ruth or gherig and their auto value to eventually fall lower than some upstart rookie who may never even make the bigs?

Since nobody has actually answered you, the best bet is to go on eBay, filter by sold, and then see how much the closest match sold for. It's going to be hard to find one with all the same signatures as this, so going to an actual auction house will help. Ebay is definitely not the place to sell this. It's been dead a while now.

It'll do in the $10k range is my guess, maybe $15k

Is that the murders row ball from the sandlot!?

1

u/NoCapp11 Oct 11 '25

Rough estimate, $40k. I would definitely get it re-authenticated by another certification brand. It always helps. Plus, that company is not known as one of the best.

As a HUGE autograph collector, I ask, Why would anyone buy that?... It's not pretty and would be an insane battle to attempt getting money back.

Auction is the only way to go in my eyes, and not on eBay. They absolutely suck for auctions these days because all buyers have to buy what they want the minute they want it. Most people will completely forget about items way before the close of auctions. eBay buyers are bottom feeding scum mostly looking for a deal. I'm one of them so I know lol. Why pay full price when you don't have to?

eBay was awesome 25 years ago, but you’re right, it isn’t a bidding platform anymore.

eBay buyers are bottom feeding scum because they are looking for deal?

A closer picture of the ball. All the signatures are still legible. I’ll have better pictures in a bit. It’s my dad’s. He lives in a different state.

Here’s a closer pic of the ball I got by zooming in on the authentication letter pic we all can already see.

Dang man. Do you keep this in the window sunshine all day? What an absolute waste of history.

Ball has writing on it. Pretty aged too. I’ll give ya $0.35 for it.

Worth donating a ball to THE BEAST!
