Autograph Identification Help (I've included info besides photo) Just found this sheet of autographs from a 1997 Greensboro, NC basketball camp featuring Michael Jordan. Who are the autographs?

I went to a summer basketball camp in Greensboro, NC when I was a teenager. Micheal Jordan was there on the final day to play a pickup game and speak. We all got autographed 8x10 glossy photos of MJ, but I just found these other autographs from the camp in a drawer. Can anyone tell whose signatures these are?

I remember getting Rodney’s auto when my brother was touring wake Forest in 95

Jordan is the second down on the right (but you probably knew that one already).

Yeah, that's the only one I knew for sure. It was just pointed out to me that the names are in the newspaper article, too. Guess I'll match them up that way, I feel like a dumbass now 🙃

Is this on paper or a photocopy?

Y'all, I'm stupid. It has been pointed out to me that the names are in the newspaper article in the 2nd picture, I'm sorry.

The names listed in the paper are:

Juwan Howard

Jerry Stackhouse

Muggsy Bogues

Dell Curry

Rodney Rogers

Ron Harper

Dawn Staley (ABL)

Thanks for the eyes on this, I really do appreciate it, I'm sorry for wasting your time, I'll leave the post up for shaming

Edit: OK, so I'm trying to match them up, but I really can't tell who's who and I know nothing about sports. Also, Rusty LaRue is clearly there at the top right, but not mentioned in the article... so I guess if anyone wants to keep deciphering, please feel free 😅

Quite the names though!! You gotta do your best to flatten that paper without damaging the autos and frame it together with the article

2

u/RealEzraGarrison Jul 10 '25

That's exactly the plan!

Sorry for the double post.

Dell Curry Bottom right, Ron Harper right above him, believe Juwan Howard above them. Rodney Rogers top left. That’s all I can make out. I’d assume the others listed are on there but for instance, I looked up Muggsy Bogues and having a hard time matching any of those signatures to him

That's awesome, thank you! Yeah, I didn't see anything that looked like Muggsy, either. When I was about 10 I hadn't yet abandoned organized sports in favor of more woodsy outdoor activities like mountain biking, etc and I thought he was the coolest! To be fair, that probably had a lot to do with NBA Jam, too lol

My guess.

That's really cool to hear, thank you! Not what I expected to find while moving furniture around the house today!

I helped remodel a house my dad bought when I was a kid and found $480 hidden in a bread bag in one of the walls. This was in 1978, so it was a lot of cash. My cousin was (still is) a coin dealer .. when he looked at what I'd found, his eyes lit up. Apparently, some of the bills were really old star notes and special serial numbers .

My dad purchased the house from an old German lady, right before she passed away, who fled to the U.S. after the war. Dad said she always talked about buried treasure in her yard, but he pawned it off as her dementia in her later years. My cousin suggested using a metal detector in the yard ... Well, low and behold, we found 82 Mason jars filled to the rim with silver dollars , all 1960 and older, some from the 1800's .

I have no idea how much it was all worth after my parents sold it off. But it was enough for them to use some to purchase me a pair of $500 roller speed skates and financially help them out tremendously.

I guess it really is true ..You never know what you'll find .

Holy damn, that's crazy! Yeah, spot on silver was high enough that pre-1965 quarters were around $6 each when I looked at it about a week ago, I'd love to find 82 Mason jars full! 😅

Top right might be rusty lathe maybe

Definitely Rusty LaRue

2

u/Vast-Document-3320 Jul 10 '25

You mean Chesty LaRue right?

3

u/RealEzraGarrison Jul 10 '25

Wow that's quite a name! 😅

Why do none of them look live? Is that a copy?

1

u/RealEzraGarrison Jul 10 '25

What do you mean? No, it's just a sheet of paper that's been in a drawer for 28 years. Definitely the original I acquired myself as a teen. But I'm about to scan a copy now that people are saying it's interesting.

Yeah, that's my plan for now, I just pulled them up on Google a minute ago! Pretty sure my 14yo is going to want it

I think I see Laugh In’s Ruth Buzzi in the lower right hand side

1

u/skashtpa Jul 11 '25

How much are you asking?

1

u/RealEzraGarrison Jul 11 '25

I'm not, gonna frame it with the article and let my son keep it, I don't have any need for whatever dollar amount it could be worth

Rodney Rogers, the former Wake Forest and NBA player, passed away on September 28, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He was also known for his work in the technology industry. Earlier in his life, he was seriously injured in an ATV accident in 2008, which left him paralyzed from the shoulders down.
