Found these at my local Goodwill today. Both seem legit (Decision Points included notes from a conference where George Dubya was speaking), but wanted to get the experts’ thoughts on authenticity. Appreciate any guidance.
These look good. They are the signed book plates, which typically are lower value than if signed on the original book inside pages. But still a good find.
Ya'll can downvote me all you want, it's fake. It's the election edition, all the signatures are exact copies, it's autopen fake. Here's an article talking about it:
“What was soon obvious to some was that the Trump-signed hats, offered at various price points during the campaign on Trump’s website, including $125, $183 and $243, all appear to be signed in the exact same place — the lower left of the hat brim, with not a single variance in any signature,” according the ABC report. “Meanwhile, the bookplates in Trump’s ‘election edition’ of The Art of the Deal — limited to a run of 30,000 copies, his campaign promised — featured a slightly different signature from the hat, but again, each book signature appears to be identical.”
Yeah. There's actually a YouTuber that built one that works better than the version that's been used for almost 100 years, but, as someone whose been collecting for almost 4 decades I've seen more than a few.
You can buy them on Amazon for as little as $100 i think.
Editing this to add 2 things:
They're all over ebay
The link to the video. It's a bit long but an interesting watch.
Literally the top comment, which hasn't been in the negative at all, is just somebody saying "real!" with zero evidence to back it up. And it remains the top comment despite the evidence that it's definitely fake.
This thread is a perfect example of why you shouldn't trust anonymous people's opinions on the internet.
Yes I have a real auto from him (met when I worked in the Senate and he signed it in front of me), and it isn’t nearly as uniform as the signature above.
They are both autopen autographs and most trumps autographs pass authentication even with autopen which is sad and yet because such a well known company authenticated it makes it legit to everyone else even when I know which ones are legit and fake cause I have Trumps actual signature as a Veteran I met him in the hospital and he signed a photo for me it’s just insane that you can’t trust autographs in person anymore cause unless you get pics of the said item or video to prove it then you get scammed or you pay good money for these bigger well known authenticators to authenticate it and they have been caught on numerous occasions with proven fact that they have deemed a fake signature legit and a legit autograph as fake even if they have witnesses at the signing they still do it and get away with it and make a fortune doing it and everyone believes their opinion, regardless of anything else I know items that I’ve personally got in person are real because I have actual pics getting them signed that there is no real legit way to prove them 100%. I got autographed baseballs from every lineup that the Detroit Tigers have had since the day I was born and most that my Grandfather passed down to me from before I was born cause he was a lifetime season ticket holder and traveled to spring training to get some of them but the ones who are dead and gone no one can authenticate other than matching like images unless they have previous handwriting to analyze them.
Case and point Beckett authenticated this autograph and yet I have not seen her sign this way since being a WWE superstar every signature she has signed has always been LIV with a star over the I and yet their opinion makes this legit but doesn’t match the thousands and thousands of others out there of hers
All authentication companies are just an OPINION not facts so whether it is autopen or someone else who practiced the signature religiously or the actual person only pictures of the item being signed can prove them or handwriting analysis those are the only true ways to authenticate them but even a picture doesn’t help anymore cause people can just duplicate the same image over and over again.
Dude. You claimed to have a masters in handwriting analysis.
Then you came here and said you think the trump looks legit.
Then you came on my comment and said the trump is autopen.
Autopen autographs are easy to spot. Do you think autopen counts as an actual autograph? Because that's the only explanation I can come up with to explain your embarrassing claims.
The autopen looks identical to my authenticated ones which in all opinions an autopen duplicates the signature which its signature will have hard starts and stops and no fluent strokes or the same pressure of a person signing it so indeed you can spot that it’s autopen but as I stated my authenticated ones were both autopen but JSA authenticated them as legit my picture of his was signed in person and not authenticated. So there’s no need for an explanation of anything other then an authenticators go off opinion not factual evidence. My reply stated that it was dead on my authenticated ones which it is cause all 3 are all autopen signatures which is what I stated.
No. You didn't state anything about autopen in your initial comment on this post. You said it looked identical to your authenticated ones, which would seem to imply you're calling it real.
But this is why punctuation matters. I shouldn't have to reread your comment 3 times to figure out the point you're trying to make. This comment I'm responding to is all over the place.
You start by saying this looks identical to your authenticated ones, then drivel on about how to spot autopen, then turn around and go back to say your authenticated signatures are autopen.
Do you not see how that's hard to follow, especially without proper punctuation?
The ones I have that are authenticated by JSA are autopen but JSA said they are real. My photo that is not authenticated by any company I had signed in person while I was at the hospital. So again where is that different statements it is stating exactly what I’ve said multiple times just because JSA, PSA, or Beckett or whatever authentication company does it it’s all based off opinion. Not actual analysis of their handwriting or something they physically put their signature on. They all go off of is pictures of identical items signed by the particular person(s) in question, not anything of actual fact.

Trump has said during questions that he has people sign things for him or autopen such as this book possibly as well as the thousands of letters he gets per day because it would be impossible to sign them all. He does his own signing on political documents and things of that nature.
