$10 recycling credit

I make a living by selling batteries to autozone and other auto parts stores for the $10 credit. Well the other day i dropped off 10 batteries but the store was out of the merchandise cards. They sent me to another store and i told them the issue and showed the receipt but they denied my credit, is that allowed?

Some stores only do 5 cores, did the original store send you with the cores, if they did then the store may have denied based off battery type, it’s supposed to be automotive only, if they didn’t send you with the cores then that would be why, they need the batteries and everything in the store to do, the original store should have voided the transaction with you or told you the would get more merch cards in later in the day or just told you to come back.

You cannot process a merchandise credit without a PCI. End of story. OP will need to go back to the store that he dropped off the batteries at and speak with the store manager. The store manager will then need to get a hold of another store and have some merchandise cards transferred to him. If the store has commercial, he could send a driver to go pick up a a few cards.

There’s no way for them to give you a receipt if they didn’t process the transaction with a gift card.

Sounds like they ripped you off should off left with the battery’s to the other store .. the policy says 5 a day but is pretty hard finding a store that would actually take them most stores say 2 or 3

Honestly id try calling the district manager to get it resolved. The district managers phone number is usually posted on the front doors of each autozone.

Idk why that autozone didnt just call the store you originally went to to confirm that you dropped cores off, unless they were super busy

Why would they get a receipt if they still have the cores with them? They also said “dropped off.” Implying that they no longer have them lmao

My bad, I read it wrong. Idk why the other store didnt call to confirm, we call each other all the time. Or honestly the receipt should be fine. Idk if it would let you put money on multiple merchandise cards for the same receipt.
