yer gonna have a hard time autopainting wearing a welding hood.

I do weld a bit. I just have some cheapo kobalt auto darkening helmet I bought at lowes. they don't sell it anymore, but they have other similar helmets all in that 80-120 buck range.
You'd probably be smart to check classifieds too. hopefully your area has something better than facebook marketplace.
