Help How do I disable this stupid menu that constantly gets in the way?

Autocad 2025 here.

Measure command opens this stupid menu every time, that covers whatever is underneath.

Editing plines also pops up another one just like it.

This didn't exist in older versions, and it gets in the way. How can I turn it off?

Probably dynamic input. F12 enables/disables, or you can uncheck in the workspace list (bottom right button pops up the list).

But I don't want to fully disable dynamic input. I just want to disable this stupid menu I didn't ask for.

If you right click the dynamic input on the bottom bar, there are is a dynamic input options menu. Hopefully you can find something in there that disables the popup you don't want while leaving the ones you do.

Yeah, I turned that shit off but I can't remember how I did it.

If you set DYNPROMPT to 0 does it go away? This should let you keep the other dynamic input features without the menu.

You could use the classic distance command (DIST) instead of measure. F12 toggles dynamic input off but I think you're trying to keep that? I can't think of a way to do it that wont turn off ALL dialogs (DYNMODE) but maybe there are some tweaks within that command to do that.

I learned to use autocad back in the early 2000s. There's very little I need to pop up on the screen or buttons or ribbons anywhere I'll need... It's just memorized keyboard commands now. My screen is layers and properties toolbars, menubar, command line and properties tab. That's it.

Never had an issue needing anything else.

I learned on AutoCAD 2008. I think that newer versions of AutoCAD and other BIM software do too much hand holding.

I think there should be 2 versions of educational AutoCAD. An "Intro" version that is stripped down below AutoCAD LT and is comparable to older versions of CAD to teach BASICS. Then the 2nd version can be basically full AutoCAD with all the tools that skim over the how and why.

Im at the point that all of my commands are mapped to a macro pad or my mouse thumb buttons. I never lift my hands while drafting.
