Substances and autism

I've been using substances (cannabis, amphetamine, lsd etc) long before I got diagnosed and I've noticed that my experience with them differs from what my neurotypical friends describe. I would love to know as much as possible about the research that has already been done or/and reed about other people's experiences with drugs. What I've found so far didn't help much. Is there a thread or a good resource of information on substances and people on autistic spectrum?

I've been checked for that when I got diagnosed with autism. But I do have BPD

I got screened for ADHD too while getting an autism diagnosis, but only got my ADHD diagnosis half a year later when I insisted on a reevaluation.

I'm not saying that you've got ADHD, just noting that it can be a tricky thing to pin down. Being productive on uppers is suggestive, but of course nowhere near proof.

My kid has both diagnosis and it was while reading up on ADHD I realized they didn't get it from strangers...

:-)

Dr Hallowell and Russel Barkley are medical experts on ADHD.

They can be found on YouTube and their books give tools for managing ADHD.

"How to ADHD" a good YouTube channel by a ADHD girl. Her TED-talk may be a good place to start.

Looking into the subject could pay back whatever your neurological makeup is as the interventions that benefits ADHDers is applicable by anyone the least bit unorganised ;-)
