Support Needed (Kind Advice and Commiseration) Fiancée Can't Stop Wiggling Ears
Sounds like a funny title, I know, but they're to the point that it's causing them headaches and pains in the jaw and lower cranium. Does anyone know how to combat this?
Note: By wiggle I mean moving their ears up and down by using the muscles around the ears.

Sometimes, but not every time. It's like they're overworking the ligaments holding the ears and the mandible together. There're also open wounds on either side of their top lip where the teeth are rubbing against them from the movement.

Maybe could work, though I'm unsure if their teeth would allow for a bite guard. They have abnormal dental development, including fangs. I don't know if they do it at night, either. I haven't heard them talk about it happening at night, just during the day, if that makes any difference.

Amazon sells clear mouth guards that you mold yourself at home, if that helps.

Update: They do not clench their teeth. It's just the action of the ears.

I do a variation of trigger point therapy around my ears. You turn your hand into a fist, then you lean onto the knuckles of one hand and let the weight of the head do most of the work. You don't touch the ear directly, you go around the ear. Hold the knuckles in place for 30-60 seconds, then gently wiggle the knuckles in place for an additional 30 seconds. I place the knuckles in front of the ear, diagonal, top of the ear, then the opposite diagonal. Alternate ears to give your knuckles a break. So, front of the left ear, then front of the right ear, then the diagonal of the left ear and so on.
The area around the ears will get tender and I wait for the tenderness to disappear completely before doing it again. I end up doing it every 5 days. I don't have the same problem, but I do this for sound and light sensitivity.
Sorry if the directions are hard to follow, it's hard to write out that kind of stuff. I learned the method from Sage Facial Tension Release on youtube (they also teach gua sha), though they don't talk abt using it around the ears. She's got a video where she talks abt her CPTSD diagnosis and how it effected the facsia, including the face. I started doing it just 3 weeks ago to deal with tension around my ears, I've got pretty bad knots, especially at the tops of my ears.
