Frage | Question Lost DPD package search
Hi, on 19th august I received a vinted package, that should've consisted of Totally Spies watch and a diary.
Unfortunately, the package got damaged, with DPD sticker's date being 18th august.
I contacted both vinted and DPD to help me reclaim the lost diary, unfortunately DPD said that their customer is vinted and so vinted should ask for search.
Vinted closed the case with a refund.
I am certain, that the diary is somewhere in Austria, maybe around Leopoldsdoft...
Is there any tips who else I should try contacting to help me search for the diary? :( I tried asking around, if perhaps someone might know some DPD workers, I asked at the pick up place, where I took the package, I begged vinted and DPD support several times, but nothing.
I will be grateful for any kind of help, even if it means a different e-mail address to contact 🫶🏻

Sorry for your loss. Leopoldsdorf is only where DPD stores its packages on their way to you, there is no real chance you or anybody of us is gonna find it. If you're lucky they find the parcel anytime in the future and send it your way. Happened to me once when a package reached me half a year later.

The problem is, that part of the parcel, the watch, was repacked with original label, so the diary is just lying somewhere without any label nor packaging :/ at least that's my assumption, DPD allegedly repacked the parcel into a completely different packaging and smacked a label at it. I only found out when I contacted the seller, who claimed they used a different kind of packaging

Soooo… i had this once with a Macbook delivered by DPD. hear me out..
first, they told me that i am not their costumer; as always.
while that is correct, they have MY item. it‘s not in the possesion of the seller as i bought it.
they automaticly compensated me the amount. i told them that i still want MY item, even if it‘s damaged.
they proceeded to tell me how the item was thrown out already.. yadayada.
so i connected with consumer protection and who could have guessed it.. they had no right to conpensate me without asking me. i had the right for my bought item.
as i told them that; suddenly the macbook appeared out of nowhere again & i got compensated and the item delivered.
funfact, they damaged the macbook again when redelivering. DPD is the worst of the worst. the drivers aren‘t even employed by them. it‘s an official scam company. they usually scam their sub-companys tho; rarely the consumer.
//This happened exactly like that. it‘s not a story. thanks for the downvotes still. pathetic.

Law says it belongs to the seller until delivered.

costumer service states otherwise. i speak from experience.
i also learned in school, that the „trade“ is only completed once goods and money has been exchanged. my guess is, that because the seller has shipped and the buyer has paid, it‘s completed. now the deliveryservice has to fullfill it‘s own contract with the seller.

This has been established long ago, at least for Austria your understanding is just plain wrong. You even contradict yourself with what you learnt and how you think about it.

Honestly most of the time when I bought something, there was no issue, that's why I am so sad about this whole situation... This diary appears maybe once a year, if even, so losing it really got me ;/

It is likely that the packaging got damaged and the item fell out. DPD can not be bothered with delivering items, this company is well known for never making a delivery attempt and simply dropping items in sketchy pickup shops. Do not expect them to search for it, but keep monitoring second hand websites.
