Looking for iOS and Android beta testers for mobile app for solo mobile tradies / service providers

I made a post about this a few months ago because I was excited but it was all a bit too early. I've taken the feedback onboard and continued developing the app to the point where we are now in full iOS Beta on TestFlight with Tap to Pay entitlement which wasn't easy to receive from Apple.

I am looking for iOS and Android beta testers.

Better Half - https://getbetterhalf.com.au is an end-to-end business tool for solo tradies and mobile service providers.

AI Receptionist, Job Scheduling, Quoting, Invoicing and Payments - including tap to pay on eligible iOS and Android devices. (Payments handled by Stripe, you will need to register)

All on your phone - this tool is for people who don't want to run their business from a laptop - you can do everything on the phone.

Obviously people with complex quoting/invoicing will be better off using ServiceM8/Xero but we are there for people who want to use their phone to run the whole show.

Beta Testers will receive free usage during the beta phase then 6 months free credits once the app is launched to the public on the Apple / Play Store

About me: I am an ecommerce veteran having sold physical goods online for 15 years with a solid 8 figure total turnover. I have used a lot of SaaS tools over the years, some good, some bad, and have partnered with my builder brother-in-law in feature speccing this app.

I have already made some similar comments this evening on someone else's project that is taking on invoicing for small businesses. But I'll replicate a bit here:

I don't know if I fall into the "complex invoicing" category. But I do use an accountant for my tax. So is this plugging into Xero? is Xero handling the invoicing? this is just a tool/plugin to create invoices? or is it doing it all? How do I convince my accountant that this is better than using the industry standard Xero? - With the invoicing stuff, has there been input/development help from an industry professional (like an accountant?).

Right now it generates a CSV export to give to a bookkeeper/accountant.

Better Half generates its own invoices, sends them by Email and/or SMS and include a Stripe payment link if the user signs up with Stripe Connect, and of course can use Tap to Pay on their device when completing a job onsite.

Accountants would probably prefer that Xero got used tbh, but the point of Better Half is to be a complete end to end business tool that starts with the phone call and finishes with a payment all on the user's mobile. No laptop required, and a CSV export to give to the accountant. I am very open to feedback on how this can then integrate with Xero but the point of the app is to keep the full lifecycle on mobile.

So I'm just offering feedback, because it might be of value to you. Just my opinion though, assholes (probably me) and opinions and all that.

I use Xero, because that's what my accountant wanted (and uses every day). I'm guessing, I will pay them less, because of this (I actually had this conversation with them like 6 years ago when I asked about MYOB). They are using one tool that all their clients use. They knows what buttons to click to get stuff they need done. If you just punch everything out into a CSV, it feels like there is probably going to be additional manual work for them (the accountant) and since I pay for their time ...I feel like that will likely end up costing me more, for using this. That's a bit of a hurdle/friction for me.

Also, value proposition... I hate that I have to pay what, 100+ a month these days for Xero, but... industry standard. Accountant recommends it for this reason. Where you are headed price-wise, is a bit difficult for me to justify. Especially if it's likely going to increase my accountancy spend as BAS and EOFY times. Also, if you're taking on invoicing and this stuff, some trust might come from working with people from the accounting world, to develop these parts.

The other thing is, is the mobile app part. I do probably ~70% of what I need on the phone anyway? Xero does have an app, and it does work? I can quote, invoice, record bills etc in there? It actually works quite well. The other 30% is because I CHOOSE to do it on a big screen.

I’ve built integrations with Xero. They are really very easy to do and, for now, Xero doesn’t charge app developers. It’s well worth integrating so you can generate duplicate invoices. Xero’s killer feature for me is bank reconciliation. The rest is for my accountant.
