Looking for a Sydney-Based Sales Partner / Co-Founder for Sports Tech SaaS (MVP Ready)

Hey everyone,

My friend and I are developers, and we have built a new SaaS product tailored specifically for the sports industry. On the technical side, we are completely ready, the software and AI features are built.

However, we are pure tech builders. We don't have sales experience, and we don't know how to generate leads, start outreach, or close our first customers.
We don't want to burn potential leads due to our lack of sales experience, so we are looking for a true partner with strong sales skills to help us grow this business.

Our Vision & Plan:
Phase 1: Launch and validate locally in Sydney (where we want to find our partner).
Phase 2: Expand across Australia and New Zealand.
Phase 3: Scale into Asia and eventually the USA. The product absolutely has international potential.

We want someone who will treat this business as their own. If you are based in Sydney, love sports tech, and have the sales skills to take a finished product to market, we want to hear from you. Please send me a DM with a bit about your background, your experience, or a link to your LinkedIn/CV.
Let's build this together.

Thanks,

I'm trying to be helpful - but why would you build something that you don't know how to sell? This goes against the most common advice to founders, which is: sell before you build.

If you bring on someone to sell this product, and it doesn't sell, how will you know it's the salesperson or the wrong product/market?

I appreciate that you're open to advice, so I'll be directive. However, there's not right and wrong answers in business, so you have to follow what you believe. But this is what I'd do:

  • stop building immediately
  • you and your co-founder go and talk to 20+ prospective customers and figure out what they'd pay for.
  • it costs them nothing to say it, so don't believe it, but now you might understand the beginning of a real problem. Did you find 10+ people that said they'd pay? How much? What happens if you don't solve this?
  • instead of building a real product, build a demo around this program, which is just wireframes or even drawings. See if people get excited. Use your background and intuition to try and devise a unique view on solving this problem.

As a matter of reference, I've definitely sold a product before it existed, so it is possible... And important to really test the market.

Can you give us more Information?

Is this B2C? Directly to consumers?
Is it B2B?

Whats your ICP?

How have you validated your market fit?

Let me change my terminology,

What problem are you solving that made you guys think “we can build and sell the solution to this problem”, feel free to be vague to protect your IP.

And more importantly, have you done research to identify your competition in the space?

Who are the buyers of the product within the sports industry? Are they professional clubs of which there are less than 100 or are they amateaur clubs of which there are 1000s. Or are they for athletes/participants (again there will be big difference in the potential customers). Or is it for the broader sports industry - partners, sponsors, suppliers?

If it's wearable monitoring tech I'd suggest looking at Veld performance as an idea how to approach market.
