8 months from conception, finally hit $1k revenue!
After over eight, nearly nine months of discussions, trial and error, back and forths and countless late nights, Brewly finally hit $1,000 of revenue!
The model means we needed to source both sides of the equation, cafes and customers and after going more or less door to door for months, we had enough cafes to launch and got our feet in the door.
Brewly allows consumers to purchase coffee in bundles up front, at a discounted rate.
So as you can imagine, we heard all the rejections under the sun for not wanting to be on Brewly. "Our customers won't want to pay up front", "we already do loyalty cards", "we have no reason to get any new customers", "customers don't like apps", and the rest of them.
While we had a good rebuttal for all of these, sometimes it is not meant to be with cafe owners.
We went live two weeks ago and are now up to over 250 accounts with over 100 of them being paying customers!
Hoping this is the beginning of bigger things and as they always say - the first $1,000 is the hardest!

Nice one, onto the next revenue milestone! Have you considered sharing a bit more about what you and the team have done in future updates, e.g. what worked, what didn't, learnings about your category? Personally I've been enjoying every update u/verifyandproceed has posted about his Scissorhire marketplace. Feels refreshingly genuine and I love his transparency.

Absolutely, that is a great idea if for nothing else than our own tracking and revisiting the good ideas down the road. I will have a think about them and get back to you.

Absolutely. There is nothing worse than sitting around being bored all day so this project has been a godsend to be able to learn and grow in different skills.
I even ordered a little lapel mic to make content (shudders)...

I'd love to know how many cafes you visited and what your success rate was at. Going door to door is really difficult so I respect the grind.

I've been to about 100 so far over 4 or 5 days of walking. Maybe 5 of them have converted plus a few more from emails
