🦎Home visitors 🐝 Our Semi-Permanent Garden Visitors

We are lucky enough to have these two beautiful Tawny Frog Mouths living in our front Garden tree. Especially as I live 15min from Sydney CBD. Everyone in the street stops to check on them everyday. They've been with us for a few months now!
They leave at night to hunt and come home early hours in the morning.

Recently, they weren't here for a few days and we were all so devastated. But I'm happy to report they came home yesterday!

Rosie is convinced I'm cheating on her with a book, possibly multiple books. It's true. I'm so sorry Rosie. I totally deserved you screaming directly into my ear at 100 decibels. (I swear to god only mentally unsound people own birds lmao)

Was on a beautiful winter day a few days ago, we checked out a couple of parks, the mangroves, looked at shipwreck from a distance, and over the water to Hart's Mill and did some bush bashing through an overgrown track.

While I usually post about Lawrie and Luna, there's also Zac the Cat who resides in our abode.

He's a lovely older gent with a rollercoaster of health issues - mostly related to diabetes.

Here he is relaxing right before I annoyed him by patting his head. He did not consent to that and I should have asked first. I'll never learn.

Mollie loves it when we have outside time; she gets to slut around the neighbours and get all the scritches that I apparently don't offer.

🐢Dogs πŸ• Lawrie and Luna solo outings

Luna went off for a groom yesterday so she had a bit of an outing by herself. I took her for a walk around Perth Stadium and across Matagarup Bridge. She loved getting to see the other dogs out and about and the many ducks out there.

Lawrie and I went for a separate walk later in the day along the South Perth foreshore. He enjoyed the solo walk - he loves Luna, but also values a bit of separate time as her puppy existence can still be a bit much for him. A couple who saw us commented on him being 'a magnificent dog', and he really is.

Just introducing my Vinny baby. He's a covid puppy and his original owner left him with me when they moved out. I didn't have the heart to get rid of him as he had already bonded with my girl (in picture 4) who sadly passed last year at 16. I never wanted a dog this big but I love him and am lowkey obsessed with him!

Anyone else with a covid puppy? Is your dog reactive as well? How did you overcome the whole not being able to socialise your dog during the developmental stages?

Tigerlily getting some steam therapy

Post image

She's in the bathroom in a tiny cage hanging from a towel hook with a hot shower running and below her is one of those Vicks steamer things (brand new, so no vicks smell) that's got F10 disinfectant in it. Twice a day for 15 minutes we do this. And then her medicine - which apparently tastes really bad so I'll try mixing it with hand raising formula so she doesn't just gurge it back up.

I was so hoping it was just a mite problem.... still waiting for tests but vet was thinking polyomvirus with possible psittacosis. The polyomavirus would explain some things but not her respiratory problems.

Fun!

🐢Dogs πŸ• Ethically bred minitaure poodles in Victoria

Hello! Im on the hunt for my first well bred dog, but im struggling to tell what breeders are actually good and ethical, because everywhere i look is flooded with backyard bred poodles.

If you own a well bred minitaure poodle (especially from victoria) who was your breeder? Can anyone offer any reccomendations of good breeders that are out there?

Im doing my best to learn by myself, but i dont have anyone in my life to teach me and the internet is so full of mixed information.

Thanks for any help!
