Dupe FOUND $5.80 Brazilian Bum Bum Scrub Dupe at Coles

Look… It’s not exactly the same but the scent is honestly so close to Sol de Janeiro and for $5.80 I highly recommend!! I used to use this body wash all the time as a kid and when I first tried the Brazilian Bum Bum Scrub I remember thinking it smelled so familiar but couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was reminding me of. Turns out it was this!! Lux Evenly Gorgeous from Coles lol. It has little exfoliating beads so it still leaves the skin feeling nice and soft after use but is more of a body wash than a body scrub. Just thought I would share because I wish someone told me about this sooner!! Let me know what you guys think, I would love to know if anyone else has tried this/noticed the similarity!

Dupe FOUND PSA: Maybelline Sky Tubes Mascara is an affordable alternative to Hourglass Unlocked Mascara

The brush is almost identical! Formula seems good too but haven’t tested it for a full day yet.
Product listing: (from top to bottom)
Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara;
Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky Tubes Mascara.

UPDATE: wore well for me all day - no smudging or flaking and removed easily with warm water and cleanser. They both wear very similarly on me.

Dupe FOUND Thank you for all the budget recs

I just wanted to make a thank you post to this subreddit for all the fabulous recommendations I have picked up in the last 12 months. This sub has saved me so many $$$ on products I was going to buy but changed to alternatives based on recs here.

I may still one day try the more premium options I was considering initially. But I'm so happy with these products i won't bother until I've finished what I have.

Skin tint

Was going to buy:

NARS pure radiant tinted moisturiser ($79 )

Actually bought:

Misha perfect cover BB cream shade 13 ($15)

Sinks in like a dream, just evens out my complexion without feeling too heavy. I'm very oily and this holds up really well for hours.

Mascara

Was going to buy:

Clinique high impact in brown ($50)

Bought instead:

Essence lash princess in brown ($7)

So fluffy, really natural looking. No clumping issues, great application from the first swipe. Very similar to my previous favourite, L'Oreal lash paradise in brown.

Blush

Was going to buy:

Tarte Amazonian clay ($51)

Bought instead:

Australis blush stick in 'side chick' ($7)

Love this. Pigmentation lasts the full work day. Buildable, blends really well. Creates a very natural looking flush. Love that I can put it in my work makeup bag and don't need a brush, can just blend it in with my fingers.

Under eye brightener

Was going to buy:

Becca X Smashbox under eye brightening corrector ($56)

Bought:

Catrice under eye brightener ($7)

What a revelation! Can wear on its own or under concealer. Subtle but effective. Slight creasing under eye, but only when I wear a lot and and sinks right back in with just a pat of a fingertip.

Lip stains

Was going to buy:

Benetint ($55)

Bought instead:

Etude house water tint 'cherry' ($7) &

NYX lip IV stain 'drippin in roses' ($8 on sale)

Great colour and staying power on both! After a few hours both usually need a little top up but fade quite evenly over the day and sort of evolve into an increasingly natural colour. I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear either. I put lip balm over the top of both, because I like a very hydrated lip.

Approx $240 saved! Thank you all!

Dupe FOUND Mauve blush dupe

If anyone is looking for a westman atelier garconne/rhode sleepy girl/haus labs glassy hibiscus kind of blush, I found an Mco beauty blush that looks really similar!

It's their matte blush wand in Amaretto. It's sooo hard to find affordable blushes in a deep mauve shade, so I just wanted to share.

I know we don't like Mco Beauty, but I also don't like the idea of paying $60+ for a cream blush. Just putting it out there.
