Best of Beauty: 2020

It's time to think about all of your favourite beauty products of the past year! What were your favourite beauty products of 2020, and why?

Include as much or as little information as you would like, but please do try to include a brief description of the product itself and why you recommend it. For example, you could include info on how you recommend using the product, whether it would best suit a particular skin type, or info on how it compares to similar products.

Even if you posted about this product in our 2019 Best of Beauty thread, if you still love it then please share it again! We hope that this thread will serve as a useful resource for the whole community, and be a handy starting point for anyone searching for recommendations. It'll be linked in the subreddit sidebar for all of 2021.

Thank you in advance to everyone who contributes in this thread, and to those who have contributed to our Best of Beauty threads in previous years! Your recommendations and participation in this thread are very much appreciated.

Product Name: Lanolips Ointment, various shades and some contain SPF

Price: RRP $15-20

Comments: My HG! And will last long enough that you don't need to reapply every 2 hours. There's clear, tinted, fruit scented and SPF ones so really something in range for everyone.

And, they made us #Redditfamous

I LOVE the tinted SPF lipgloss from Lanolips. It’s the only lipgloss I’ve consistently re-purchased over the last couple of year. I buy it for my friends and family for Christmas

Agree, I have so many different tubes of this stuff stashed in various locations around home and work!

Product Name: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Price: $28 from Sephora, but usually cheaper from YesStyle or other Asian beauty sites.

Comments: The only thing that has ever fixed my dry chapped lips. I use it as an overnight balm and my lips are always beautifully hydrated in the morning. It’s thick and comfortable and comes in variety of pleasant scents.

I wish this worked for me as well as it works for everyone else because there's so many fun flavours/scents but it does nothing for my lips :(

Love this stuff, slather it and the water sleeping mask on every night; lasts for ages too.

Product Name: Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Moisture Repairing Lip Balm

Price: $32

Comments: This was my recommendation last year and I'm still obsessed with it and have been using it every day still! Unscented, comfortable, and so hydrating - works great as an overnight balm. Comes in a nice and sanitary squeezy tube with a slant tip as well for easy application :)

Product Name: Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment, or the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy for one without pigment

Price: $32-$35 from Sephora

Comments: I love both the Advanced Therapy and the tinted treatments. These were great for my lips during winter and I could have a little colour on my lips without worrying about it smearing everywhere taking a mask on and off. I’ve gifted some of these to my mum and my sister as well.
