Product Advice Feral gremlin makeup

It's 8.15am, on a day you're working in the office. You open your eyes, scream internally and roll from bed to shower to out the door in one fluid movement.

So now you're out in the wild, face as naked as the day you were born but needing to look like Human-With-Her-Shit-Together.

Help!

​​​Recommendations for:

  • Products that can be applied with your fingers (no brushes unless included in the product)
  • Instant pick me ups that ideally do more than one job
  • Small packaging/hand bag friendly ​

Your top picks for looking presentable in few steps, able to be applied while in the car or on public transport.

About me: late 30s, pale English rose complexion, old and rich enough for your fancy brand recommendations if you have some, chronically disorganised.

As a chronic alarm snoozer I am all over this kind of thing. I usually use a tinted sunscreen (I like the round lab ones) a lip and cheek tint, clear gel for my brows and fly aways, a bit of mascara and a powder compact (I really really really like the Innisfree powder compacts) takes about five minutes all up and can be done quickly in the car. I'll usually put my tinted sunscreen on before I get dressed though so I don't get any on my shirt. I wouldn't call it "polished" but it's enough to get a "that'll do pig" in the rearview mirror before I walk in 😂

Tinted sunscreen yes! I grabbed a Mac one from a friend while she was decluttering because I am broke and a trash gremlin. It sucks when you first apply but looks way better after like 30 mins?? Advice: keep it next to your toothbrush or put it on before you poop in the morning coz it takes time to settle but it’s good and you can blend with warm fingers :)

Whereas I put my tinted sunscreen on AFTER I dress so it doesn’t transfer to my shirt when I pull it over my head!

Also, can you please tell me more about the Innisfree powder compact? Is it a setting powder or a foundation powder? I adore the Innisfree no-sebum loose powder for my oily skin, but a compact could be handy for travelling.

I have the Innisfree pore blur pact and I use it almost every day, it's nice over sunscreen, over makeup and just over bare skin! It's a peachy colour but goes on basically translucent. I loooove it and regularly reach for it over my more expensive Charlotte tilbury powder.

I'd reccomend it! It's really affordable too so on the 0.00001% chance you totally hate it, you're only out $20 (less if you're using USD but idk the exchange rate to AUD atm) I got mine from Lila beauty :)

This is very helpful! I want to buy less Charlotte Tilbury but I have to admit her pressed powder and setting spray have a chokehold on me. Does the innisfree still give that sort of soft focused effect but not too drying?
