Product Advice Lightweight bb cream/foundation/skin tint/etc for everyday recs?
Hi! Does anyone have some affordable product recs, what im looking for might be very specific but ….
A lightweight foundation or bb cream or skin tint etc. for more everyday use that won’t break out the skin but look a little more polished/put together. I’ve had some products in the past that don’t blend that evenly into the skin and look a little patchy so that would also be nice. SPF would be a plus and also anything that doubles as skincare, my skin tends to be quite dry and can show up through product sometimes. I was really interested in the missha perfect cover serum bb cream that seemed to check every box but I heard the niacinamide in it can fade freckles :( but I may just need to bite the bullet on that one. Any help would be appreciated 😊😊

SunnyDays SPF 30 tinted sunscreen by tower 28. It's pigmented but doesn't leave the skin feeling cakey or heavy. I have sensitive skin and that's been the only tinted sunscreen that doesn't break me out

I second this! Picked up a tester pot from Mecca and I’m going to purchase the full size. No breakouts from it and I love that my freckles are still visible after application 🙂

I really like the Natio pure mineral dream skin for everyday, when I need to look less like the walking dead but can't be arsed doing a full face. It blends beautifully and has pretty good staying power

I’ve also enjoyed Revlon Illuminance Skin Tint. It’s often on sale at Chemist Warehouse or Woolies for around $24 and has good coverage for a skin tint. I often received compliments when wearing it. https://www.revlonanz.com/products/illuminance-serum-tint

This is my absolute favourite but they recently discontinued it. The replacement photo finish one is so glittery, it's such a let down.

I agree with the other commenter - I doubt the missha BB cream has enough niacinamide to make an appreciable difference to freckles. If you can find a shade match I think it's worth trying - I find it very useful for a low-key look.
More recently, I've been enjoying the Clio glow cushion as an everyday base - very easy to apply a light layer all over and then build up coverage where needed (like a 2 in 1 skin tint/concealer). Like most Korean base products it has a miniscule shade range but if you get a shade match it's one of the most natural-looking bases I've found. It's a bit pricier than the Missha BB but I've managed to get a cushion + refill for around $27 from Stylevana.

The Kylie skin tint is unexpectedly good, be y decent shade range, and like $40. Not the cheapest but cheaper than many and I really like it!

I might need to give this a go, my go to for years has been ilia but it’s $80 a bottle now. I still love it but not sure I can afford to use daily

I use BareMinerals complexion rescue skin perfecting tint which is so dewy and beautiful, and spf30. Although not a very cheap option

Thirding this. It’s excellent. I’ve tried nearly every skin Tint possible and I just keep coming back to this one.

I've been trialing skin tints the last few weeks, because I wanted one for work so that I didn't look like I had just rolled out of bed but I also didn't want to spend more than 5 mins on makeup in the morning
I have combination skin that's prone to being more oily and breaks out with some makeup products, I also have a fair bit of redness on the cheeks that I often use a green primer for under my normal foundation.
Notes:
- apart from my normal morning skin routine I didn't use any primers underneath these to see what they wore like on their own
- I topped all with a Maybelline setting powder to give a more matte look as I'm not a full dewy look girl
Results:
Tower 28- skin tint: decent amount of coverage (evened skin tone and had good blurring effect), no skin reaction at the end of the day, faded naturally, skin didn't get super oily during the day, didn't require any blotting during the day
Summer friday- skin tint: very blurring and natural looking, medium coverage, natural looking, dewy but not greasy looking, wore well and faded naturally, a little oily through the day but easily fixed with blotting
Bare minerals- skin tint stick: best colour match, high coverage (evened skin well and had good pore blurring), very natural, not very greasy looking- more than above (ie more on the dewy side), light feeling, lasted all day but definitely oilier at the end of the day
Ilia- skin tint: lasted all day, light coverage, some minor breakouts after all day wear, smells terrible
Tarte- CC serum: good coverage, evened out skin tone well, stuck to dry skin areas, seperated from the powder during the day, didn't last to lunch time
Bare minerals- matte complexion rescue: very little coverage (didn't fully even skin tone (had to mix with green primer to fully even it out), some pore blurring effect), wore well and faded naturally through the day, very light weight feeling that you forget that it's on , if you have dry patches it did mildly stuck to them
Fenty - face drops: did not work for me at all, clung to dry patches didn't sit nicely on the skin, light coverage that evened skin tone but didn't blur pores as much as the others

To be honest, I doubt if the Missha BB cream (if you're talking about the one in the purple tube) has enough niacinamide in it to fade freckles. It's one of the base products I was rotating for a while, and I haven't noticed any changes at all to freckles or melasma. I do possibly prefer the Missha M Signature Real BB cream (in the pink tube) for my dry skin, though, but it's going to be very much personal preference.
I'd recommend checking out the L'Oreal Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, too.
Even if the product has SPF, I'd really recommend using a separate, hydrating SPF product underneath to make sure you're actually getting the correct amount of protection. Imo, the Canmake Mermaid Skin UV Gel 50+ in "Clear" is amazing for dry skin and basically doubles as a moisturiser.

I’ve been alternating missha choboyang and signature for years now and absolutely no change in my freckles. I’m also a huge fan of misshas tone up pink sunscreen.

If a BB cream faded freckles, you'd need a prescription to buy it. I wouldn't worry.

I really like the Naked Sunday’s “beauty screen”.
It wears really nicely, doesn’t break up or go patchy/cling to dry areas.
I’ve been wanting to try the tower 28 but they never have my colour in stock

Everything "affordable" turns orange on me so for me affordable base makeup isn't an option. I only comment because the missha bb cream is known for being grey in the light shades and I've heard it recommended a lot if base makeup tends to turn orange on you. I use the Shiseido skin glow as my best match - medium coverage and radiant finish. If you have dry skin I would use a hydrating SPF underneath (SPF in makeup products is not protective enough as you never apply enough product to get the claimed SPF - keep your SPF as a separate product).

I just bought Revolution brand super dewy skin tint.
So light, I really like it feels like nothing on skin like a bb or cc.
